"Is it absolute or do you have a limit?" I think there would be a limit. If my best friend asked me to keep a secret I would, unless it involved where they had hidden the body.

Hmmm the hidden body would stretch loyalty to or past my limit I think too. " There's hidden bodies then there's hidden bodies. Frankly if a pal accidentally killed a bullying , cheating , lying , violent bastard I could keep my loyalty to them .....and my mouth shut.

"There's always a limit. I will fight tooth and nail to protect my friends/family but I wouldn't help them if they were the aggressor. I would, however, try to talk them into a different course of action.." That's a good point although many would jump in to help even if the friend was the aggressor.

"Is it absolute or do you have a limit?" I think self preservation dictates we have a limit . or should

I would jump in only to break things up and try to stop a bad situation worse. I wouldn't knowingly help someone instigate trouble...

If the family were of the same ilk then yes my loyalty remains. If the family were decent human folk and I though their pain was hurting them then my loyalty could be called into question. If the family were decent human folk and I thought worse things would happen if I 'told' then they'd have to suffer while I kept quiet. Nothing's easy.

"I wouldn't help anyone hiding the body of a person they had killed. I just wouldn't and no argument as to the character of the dead person would dissuade me." Then in that respect for you it's absolute.

Without thinking i'd immediately say ...No id never stick up for someone who killed and hid a body.... Life isn't that simple.

"Who says that revealing the body would be a disloyal thing to do. I would remain loyal to Jen and the kids until the four horsemen popped down for a stroll... If any of them confessed to a murder to me, my entire efforts and loyalty would need to be in helping them to seek the help they need, and protecting them from further soul destroying actions. The police would become involved, preferably their via their own admission rather than my belief that it is the best thing that could be done for them. Is that disloyal? I don't think loyalty has limits, I do think that loyalty requires thought as well as emotion. M." Sould destroying ? Needing help ? You seem to have assumed that they killed in cold blood for the joy of it ....

"Is it absolute or do you have a limit?" Depends in what "mode" your talking.. Dating, yeah I'm loyal, never cheated..wouldn't do it in a billion years, been close but never went through with it. In life in general? I can be yeah depends: *who it is *what's involved *who else is involved *what I know about the situation/event/problem Sometimes if I think something ain't right/doesn't look right in my head, I'll make a split second decision. I have done. If something ain't right ...it ain't right.
