I would suggest that, if you have self-esteem / confidence issues, particularly about aspects of your physical appearance that the very nature of swinging can take a magnifying glass or spotlight to those in your own minds eye.

Or, what you find is that you actually desire is not merely physical, but a mental and emotional connectedness to another human being which manifests itself in a few physical moments and is then gone , leaving you empty and bereft once more.

The worst question you can ask yourself is ‘Why would anyone want to meet me?’ Because once you’ve asked yourself that (and cannot derive a positive answer), any meets you get will be viewed with the suspicion that you’re only there because you were ‘warm and wet and available’. It’s your low self-esteem seeking to drive itself lower by telling you can’t people don’t want to meet you because of who you are, just for what you can offer them in a momentary passing. Sometimes the need to feel desired and wanted is something that we need from someone closer to us that a casual tryst in a hotel bar.

Casual sex / swinging can be a powerful, empowering force in anyone’s life. Or it can be a very destructive one which feeds dysmorphia, low self-esteem, body image issues and abject feelings of disconnectedness and loneliness.

So, with all the positive messages of support you have received, the importance is to understand what need they fed within you and how you can continue to feed that need – and most importantly how you can use your time and efforts in the world of swinging in a far more positive and healthier way.

The opening poster is not single - she states she is married. Perhaps you should leave and address you personal issues with your husband who may live and want to support his wife. Or if he is the cause of your self esteem issues - concentrate your energies on removing yourself from a damaging relationship. But this site is obviously not helping with your issues and may be making them worse.

I am not paying this from the "morality police"perspective. More that the underlying issues need resolving and this may not be the place to do it.

Reading your first post its saying your unhappy with low self-esteem maybe look at that and ask yourself why ? and whats making you feel that way ... and maybe work on changing things so you can be happy and not needing a few drinks to change things xx
