With what can only be described as relentless regularity we are subjected to one of the most spectacular displays of music, and military precision.....

Way to go Edinburgh...!!!!

Angus & Findhorn

went a few years ago, i thought I wouldn't like it but I did.

there was a single piper at the end, was very moving.

not sure if they do that every year.

Glasgow

If only Bill Paterson would shut up and let the bands play.

I'm not a fan of pipe bands but few can hear The Black Bear without the hairs standing up.

I have worked behind the scenes at the tattoo 4 times and then got free tickets to go see it as well. It's amazing how everyone is when they are in the barracks and then on the castle grounds.

The lone piper is there every year and the years I worked and watched were made even more special because I knew the guy up there.

The imps were there one year I worked and are a fantastic tea of kids.

Pipes never fail to lift the hairs on my arms...

Just imagine a freezing misty morning in the highlands.... Your army is camped in the mud, getting ready to attack a Scottish encampment.... From nowhere, a lone piper... Soon joined by the full pipe squadron...

How the hell do you stop yourself running back to England...???

One year I Will make it up to the tattoo...
