Cheeseville, Somerset

Mine was £30 on my first day down at the yard breaking in ponies ready for the sales

It was only supposed to be £20 a day, but she chucked in an extra 10 after she handed me a pony that hand been ridden before and just needed 'refreshing' only to turn out it was actually the pony next to it and this one had only ever been halter broken

Annoying thing was i stayed on through the whole bronco stage only to get chucked as i was swinging my leg over to get off!! Bleady ponies

First part time job was $10 for cleaning the doctor's surgery on a Sunday afternoon.

First "real" full time job was $115 per week working in a record shop (yes that was records, not CDs)

20 years ago i got £40.00 a week doing about 40-45 hrs a week training to be a hairdresser at 16.

at time thought great...but its less than a pound an hour and slave labour. and if stayed behind or ran late got nothing extra either.

i dont know what the rate in now for peeps training, though each job be different pay wise
