It depends if you're texting their UK number or an overseas number.

UK number it's just like sendinga text to them when they're in the UK.

An overseas number you will pay for. How much will depend on your provider and the country.

Yes, depends on your provider at this end, and the operator you're using at the other.

But if you can regularly get a wi-fi connection, Whatapp is the way to go, completely free.
