if gym membership for the month is £33 and when you join you have to pay for the remainder of the month and the next month up front how much would you pay up front for a gym membership starting from the 27th August?

should have seen the look on the receptionist face when i tried to talk her through why charging me £43 was wrong lol

and i think the daft bint has charged my card both £43 and £38 so will need to sort that out when i get back off my jollies

33 x 12 divided by 365 = £1.08 x 4 = about £37 and that took me ages!

you pay by calender month so it was £33/31 (days in August) x 5 = £5.32 + £33 = £38.32

33 x 12 divided by 365 = £1.08 x 4 = about £37 and that took me ages! "

I make it £38.43 based on 5 days remaining this month and a full month @ £33 for sept.

And it IS an arithmetic question. All it uses is the basic four arithmetical functions.

We don't do GCSE in Scotland but, as I understand it, they're roughly the equivalent of our old 11+.
