I knew a girl who got sacked from Mothers Pride Bakery for putting too much jam in the donuts.

It wasn't a one off, she didn't like doing it so figured that if she ran out of jam she wouldn't be able to do it anymore.

Can't of looked good on her CV.

You'd be gutted if you got one of the packets with no jam in though. I've had a packet with no jam in. Pissed of dot com lol too much jam can get messy as well.

I would return them and double quick! I usually nibble one in the car park before leaving anyway so I wouldn't have got far.

Many people have been known to slag off their employer/colleagues on Facebook, only to forget they have some of their colleagues on their friends list. Not a terribly smart move...

Nobody ever said it was an action done with forethought but there surprisingly many highly intelligent people who do things without for thought but there are many people who make assumptions without forethought too that doesn't make them idiots too. People get frustrated they act with haste that doesn't make them an idiot though.

I once got sacked for writing down my opinion of my boss for a colleague. Didn't mince my words. Didn't finish my tirade so left the sheet of paper in my desk drawer. When I came in after the weekend I was called into the HR bloke's office. My boss had found the letter. HR bloke tried not to burst out laughing when he read out the letter; he concurred big time, but had to fire me there and then as it had been on company paper, with the letterhead.

Still makes me grin.

This exact same thing happened to a friend of mine years ago. Except she had written her thoughts on an email and it got into the wrong hands!

Sorry, so your argument or point is about the misuse of the word 'idiot'?

As for having a rant online, that's not the same thing as being specifically derogative an individual or group of individuals. On that basis, referring to the self appointed group of individuals who make the 'error without forethought' of slagging of their employer on a social network (and being stupid enough to use their real name) as idiots is probably a bit of an assumption in some cases and for that I unconditionally apologise. But to be fair, its pretty idiotic thing to do

This happened to me, I had a colleague and who just got right on my tits, so I sent him an email telling him what I thought about him, I was taken to disciplinary, I argued I was allowed an opinion on somebody and was allowed to state my opinion, hr agreed but then sacked me for miss use of media policy a slight technicality lol

I had a summer job in a bakery, 4 of us went in cold room and ate a large amount of strawberries, boss sacked the 4 of us, we went down the pub, half hour boss came in, gave us a lecture and said get back to work, then within an hour we were all sacked for being d*unk, twice in an afternoon, wonder if that's a record ?

I lost my phone at work and my boss was helping look for it cos I thought I had dropped it on a container going to Australia I was suprised to say the least when he bought my phone over to me ringing, he had rung it and I forgot I put his number in my phone with the name cock knocker I didn't get the sack on the spot but he gave me so much shit after that it made it impossible to stay

A few years ago, firm I worked for had a departmentmental "awayday" at a hotel, which started the previous evening with a meal, drinks, and a team-based quiz to get us sociable.

Never found out *exactly* what happened, but a fairly new employee (about 3 months) wasn't there the next day, and there was a notice from management they "were no longer employed by the company". One of the (*very* attractive) female members of staff had apparently been "inappropriately approached".

Oh when I was fighting to see my daughter and put money on the table at all costs I was a janitor for [a very reputable high street supermarket that claims it likes to help a little bit] where I was fired for working too hard at my own job and not working hard enough at the jobs that weren't mine to do.

After I was fired, got the cleaning manager investigated and he quit his job.

Stupid - especially since the first company then later brought the jobs back to Britain as it didn't work out in India.

You rant to your friends or people you trust. You don't rant about your job or your boss in a public forum that they could have access to. So I would say that if you do then yes that makes you a bit of an idiot.

I got the sack for knocking three bike frames over as I was trying to tidy the place up. Or it could have been argueing the boss afterwards, still job the was good the management.......
