when are lies acceptable?

On my friend's forum I have made friends world-wide, some I have met.

One of these friends fell for an American. Beautiful, intelligent, and came from a wealthy family.

They conducted an online affair for a long time. They even got engaged. They often fell out because daddy didn't approve. Her grandmother dying in Israel prevented them from meeting when he went to America. She was jealous of any female friends my friend had. We had the occasional spat and she certainly came across as a young, neurotic princess type of woman.

Eventually she found a nice Jewish doctor and they married. my friend was devastated.

A year or so later the truth came out... When she admitted all to my friend who owns the forum. She has now died of cancer. She conducted this new life as an escape. The photos were all fake. Being a Jew and female was the only truth. She had loving children and grandchildren in her life.

I was horrified that someone could manipulate others to the extent she did... For years! Cancer is no excuse!

Of course the husband "liking" his wife's new haircut during her time of PMS is an acceptable lie

in the night garden

I sometimes tell my friend Mark (who is a ninja) that he is a great electrical guitarist despite him being terrible. The last person to laugh at his guitar playing got a round house kick right into the throat.

If he's a really good Ninja guitarist though, surely you should never see or hear him play -until it's too late!

I get the impression that if you hear him play, it's too late!

A gf once made being completely honest with her all the time a condition of going out.... That relationship lasted a week.

Haha!

I can count on one hand how many I've seriously dated. It's a big deal for me.

I've never ever cheated when actually dating...been tempted but I wouldn't do it.

My parents have been married 27 years and my dad would never do it.

Oh I didn't cheat. Basically we'd just had some really great sex. I was sitting at the far end of the bed cooling off and she was lying on her front with her head on the pillow. She looked over her shoulder and smiled at me then asked "what are you thinking?"... Bearing in mind my vow of honesty I responded with the truth "I was wondering of you'd let me film myself pulling your but heels apart and pushing them back together so it looks likes its talking whilst singing "do you hear the people sing?" from les mis..." Apparently she didn't want me to be that honest. X"

*buttcheeks. Damn auto correct

*like just a slip of the thumb

We are English, we lie by default.

"How are you feeling?"

"I'm fine thanks, how are you?"

"Yeah, good thanks.."

We rarely say how we are really feeling. It's like we are given Viagra for the upper lip at birth, as its always stiff.
