A Secret Hideaway In the caravan of love

Count all the ones that you remember not the ones you were told about. Ratings at the bottom.

1.Sweets that looked like cigarettes

2.Coffee bars with a juke boxes

3.Home milk delivery in glass bottles

4.Party lines on the telephone

5.Newsreels before the main feature film

6.TV test patterns that came on at night after the last show and were there until TV shows started again in the morning. (there were only 3 channels [if you were fortunate])

7.Peashooters

8.Andy Pandy

9.78 RPM records

10.Hi-fi's

11.Tin Baths

12.Blue flashbulb

13.Cork popguns

14.Wolsley, Riley, Austin, Morris, Triumph and Vanden plas, made Motor Cars

If you remembered 0-3 = You're still young

If you remembered 3-6 = You are getting older

If you remembered 7-10 = Don't tell your age,

If you remembered 11-15 =You're older than dirt!

I might be older than dirt but those memories are some of the best parts of my life.

My son found my stash of singles and albums, pulled a single out and said "hey dad, is this an old type of CD?".....

13 remember all 15 but 2 of them never used and were out of use (ie tin bath) during my lifetime still makes me old as dirt and just as ugly

We had a tin bath, cos we had outside toilet and no bathroom. We only had one sink in the house, which was in the kitchen

I remember 4 of them but have knowledge of most of them. I think you can only say you remember them if they were an everyday part of your life. For example, I know what a 78rpm record is but have no recollection of ever playing one. Similarly, I know what a peashooter is but never used one. I was too young to be awake when the test card was on except for on BBC2 where nothing else ever seem to be displayed lol.

Glass milk bottles = yup, remember them... and the milk tastes better too.

Do I feel old?

Sometimes, sure, especially when young people are raving about their forthcoming holiday in Ibiza or Benidorm - I did that 20 years ago lol
