If someone took your private rude photos and sent them to your ex via Facebook...?

Now I would be cross but would stay calm and report it to the police as it would be cyber bullying...I'd also report them to facebook.

Just curious as it came up as conversation.. but would would you do?

Honestly, I would think about the police, definitely report to Facebook. And I would confront the ex to find out why they were interested anyway.

But then I'd consider how they got my photos in the first place, and really wonder if I was that bothered?

Only utter lowlife would do that its appalling and someone who sinks that low needs to seek help as its not rational at all. What would I do? Well I would contact the police no question IP addresses can be traced and depending who it was sent to age wise it could end up with some heavy repercussions.

Contact the police it is decisive and could be classed as blackmail, bullying or a number of other offences. Why the fuck anyone would want to do something like that has to be asked. But that me I know plenty of people who would rerun the favour sending pictures to parents, family and friends but why sink to the gutter along with them let the police deal with it that's what your taxes are for.

No but photos taken directly from for instance this site may raise some issues.

It's not happened to me that I know of, but In discussion someone thought I was being a bit harsh to suggest police etc.

But to me messing in someone's life is deplorable and shows a lack of decency and that the person doing the stirring has issues with the person that they are stirring about. X

I would report it to the police, who's to say who's hands these pictures would fall in too? What if they had children and they saw them?? Seriously, it don't bare thinking about.

The person who did this, as far as |I am concerned is SCUM. Jealousy and bitterness is a very ugly trait and it's obviously this person is nasty right to the core!!

there is an element of risk with posting photos on the net,

as for the ex problem is it really a problem as hes an ex!

Think it depends how they got the photographs. If it's from a public forum then I'm pretty sure I would not have a leg to stand on from a legal perspective. If they were threatening to show them unless I did something then it's blackmail and maybe I could do something. Most sites leave the responsibility of how you share your information up to you so once you put something out there it's out there and can be shared numerous times.

Basically it's my responsibility and I think there would need to be additional circumstances to classify it as bullying, slander, libellous, blackmail etc and get the police involved.

You post on the net you take the risks. Like Facebook or whatever, you put your life on the Internet then it's fair game to get used, no matter whatever you put in a profile or the Sydney Uni bollocks. Because the guy's taking the pics aren't going to be worried of the consequences. Simple common sense. Let people see what you want them to see, let people know what you want them to know. Too much and it'll cost you eventually.

If authorities are brought in at the start, its possible that the person whos alleged photos have been passed on, could end up with the proverbial egg on face. Also if found out that the alleged sender of said photos, is completely innocent, they would be perfectly within their rights to sue for deformation of character and maliciouse slander.

Perhaps the pic owner and ex should sit down with an impartial mediator and sort it out before anything more gets said.

Ignore bad behaviour, reward good behaviour.

There is absolutely nothing you can do about it, always think before you allow someone to record anything, pics voice, anything.

On a good note, be flattered, take the wind out of their sail, Thank them for exposing your charms to the world, after all, only one thing worse than being talked about....not being talked about

Deplorable behaviour- There was a thread in swingers chat a few months ago if I recall, where people (lots) had had their pictures copied and put on another website, there were lots of people very worried.

As already mentioned in the thread I hope that these pictures didn't get to be seen by kids, that would be a whole different ball game....saying that, personally I would contact the Police if only for advice.

People really need do need to think about the consequences of their actions and be held accountable and responsible.

Whilst not excusing people who pilfer and post pics, there's a responsibility on the owner of the photos to do what they can to keep their pics as safe as they need them to be.

Putting your pics online is about as secure as sellotaping them to a lamp post.

I went to the police who advised that unless she was demanding money with menaces there was very little they could do about it.

Yes I could go to the site where she had posted it and request it to be taken down but she could just post it somewhere else.

No the person really did pass them on in this case but I'm well aware of what a vicious vindictive person they are with regards to all this... And really hope what goes around comes around. Having seen the shit given personally I have no sympathy..but then there is never any excuse to stir in someone's life really.

I had a situation with an ex this time last year. I'd had to report some threatening texts to the police and a few days later my ex threatened to send the pictures (that he had got legitimately) to my professional body. The police took this as harassment and there is now a harassment order out against him. He is not allowed to contact me. As some of you (who knew me on my previous profile) will know I had to change my number and had to take advice on safety in my house as the threats were quite terrifying.

I have since learned that he has psychiatric issues. But if ever there was a time to be genuinely scared that was it. I am not the first woman he's done it to sadly, again something I have since found out.

Whoooh there buddy now that’s a little bit of misinformation and to suggest going to the police to make a complaint could get you into a slander situation is untrue. If people suspect someone of doing something then you go to the authorities and they will investigate further but to insinuate someone could get slander issues for involving the police is highly divisive and besides the thread starter has already said in this case its a fact the pictures were sent. Surely you agree if someone feels someone is the victim of cyber bullying they should go to the authorities?

Yes we all have ex's and some more than others but not so many with ex's that have access to let alone would send "sexy" pics to our other ex (suggests the ex's have regular contact and may even be friends).

Unless someone possesses the power to look into the future how on earth are we to know what someone will be like in a indeterminate amount of time. I don't have a TARDIS so I can't see into the future so I will carry on regardless.

Dont do anything. I have no shame. All it shows is that I'm doing something I clearly enjoy. Exes are exes for a reason, it no longer concerns them. As for the person that swiped the photos, I could get very creative as to what I could do to somebody like that.

I have no shame, but in my situation last year the threat to my professional body was fairly terrifying. The police dealt with is very well and other than having to change my number there's been no other come back.
