perfect cup of tea

Being from Texas we drink iced tea... I noticed the lady I care for keeps pouring the cups of tea I make her in the plants.. She does have dementia but I can't help thinking its my lack if tea making experience. .. what makes the perfect cup of tea?

I make my tea like this...

Tea bag in the cup. Water in the cup. Dunk the bag a few times. Remove bag. Add sugar then milk.

Never the milk before the bag comes out. That's just wrong lol x

Should really be milk first, if needed, as this prevents a small amount of milk, in a larger amount of very hot water, being somehow part curdled, I heard.

Brewed in tea pot, warmed first. Likewise, you can warm cups too.

But like so many others, I use tea bags, and these get added first, then milk later, if made in a cup.

Tea, without milk, will be good for most plants. Don't waste your tea bags etc, as perfect compost material - or add used ones at the bottom when re-potting plants, as they'll help absorb water and release nutrients, helping growth.

I prefer to pour the boiling water (let the water stop bubbling in kettle first) over the tea bag, stir and dunk the bag under a few times till you get a nice dark color, remove the tea bag but press it against the side of cup first before removal, then add a little milk (about 15ml), make sure you stir it counter clock wise twice and the clock wise twice and dont forget to remove the spoon.

Then what I do is fuck it down the sink and open a can of stella instead because tea is rank. Hope that helps

A perfect cuppa for me would be Assam steeped in a teapot or tiere (some people call it a tea pig). Poured into the cup with lashings of skimmed milk after (never the milk first). And no sugar.

Otherwise it is a teabag left to steep then milk.

Asian tea is the best tea

Using loose tea

Boil the tea for 5-10 minutes

Add milk and boil again, add sugar as required.

Bring to the boil a few times,

Pour in a cup using a sieve. The perfect cup of tea.

Tea should be made with boiling water not hot, so milk second.

Coffee should be made with hot water not boiling, so milk first.

It does say this on the packaging.

I'm sure the scummy stuff when adding the milk is a chemical reaction and not to do with the temperature.

Aside from that everyone likes their tea differently some like it like slightly brown hot milk others like it stewed to the point of looking like mud. So unless you find out exactly how she likes it then she'll continue to keep ditching it in the plants.

I work in domestic properties and have thrown quite a lot of weak tea away if I can, discreetly. Sometimes you have to bite the bullet and drink it though.
