Resigned from my job earlier today to coach athletics. Had enough of my job and the lack of respect shown. Has anybody else just seen the red mist and resigned from a job? If so did you regret it?

I resigned at christmas, and I did regret it, but only on a money point of view. I have since got over this regret and I enjoy the job I do now, although I could do with it being more of a long term placement.

follow your heart and it will pay off in the end, no point doing a job you hate, do something you enjoy and you will accomplish more xxx

Life is too short for regrets, do what feels right at the time, your strength will get you through anything, one thing I have learnt, is

Life, it goes on !

At the time no as I hated where I was (and they have since lost the contract so all the staff have now gone to the company who won it), now however not so sure. I love the job I do, something I knew nothing about when I started but my small company had to merge with a large company who don't care for staff only how much money they can save with poor cheap computer systems which take staff twice as long to do their job, and how much money they can make. We have been under consultation and restructure for the last year, I have had to take a lower paid job which I cannot afford to do but on the plus side, I am entitled to take redundancy which would pay off two debts leaving me with just one. It is a real shame as I would like to stay where I am at the office where I work as I have made some great friends but not sure about staying with the company now at all

I have resigned before but was lucky enough to have a job to go to.

I wish you well and hope you get a new job ASAP - hopefully something you'll enjoy

I handed my notice in last year but made sure I joined an agency first. Within 3 months of joining I had 2 offers of jobs taking the 2nd one. It was a struggle to start with as less money but now I love my new job.

Good luck to anyone who does this but you must surely be able to afford it. If not £71 a week is nothing to live on and you will wait weeks before entitlement becuase you resigned.

Yes. I was a manager for Sainsburys for 9 years. I hated it towards the end. I walked in one morning and quit. Got some temp work to tide me over.

Never regretted it for a millisecond

I have another job lined up. However even if I hadn't I would have walked... Regards to the 71 pound a week, I would never sign on. Besides, I'm a good saver

Fareham

I once worked as an admin officer in the defence fire service. Most of the officers were fine but there was one who was a jumped up little tw*t. One morning, he overstepped the mark just once too often with me and I simply said 'I'm not paid enough to take this sh** from you - shove your job - I'm off'

The look on his face as I picked up my coat and walked was priceless

I (2wheels) resigned from a job during an appraisal when I was propositioned by my female manager. And while it may sound like something from stories and fantasies it was not a nice experience. Walked out the meeting, wrote the letter picked up my coat and went and destroyed the manager's credibility. Still surprised I had the balls to do it!
