We usually reply to any nice respectful messages, if we don't it's because we're not sure whether it's a yes or no and then they drop down our received messages and out of sight lol.

Any rude or crass messages we ignore or in the worst instances block

Well a message is more polite but that can take a lot of time and is often not seen as a 'no thank' but more as an invite to engage in a conversation. I would gauge how much effort you put into the rejection by how much effort was put into the message.

Depends if they have put effort in?

Some messages are undoubtably regurgitated general "your so beautifuls" though not very specific to your profile I'm sure, but people who make the effort need to get noticed ever now and again imo

I'd say no thanks is better, but can understand why some just delete.

Speaking as a single male :

If it's well written, taken note of your profile and requirements, has some relevance to it, then a reply "thanks but no thanks, not for us" would be a polite courteous reply. Not expected, but certainly no offence taken if non received.

If it's a crude one liner, barely legible, speaks only of satisfying their own needs, or combination of these or similar then simply delete. Without further thought.

To show added disapproval of the style of message, either a) don't open it (*) or b) open it and don't delete.

(*) You can usually tell from the first couple of words what it is likely to be like.

Delete it!

I wouldn't block anyone straight off unless you get abuse back.

By saying "no thanks", your almost putting it up for debate.

Is it debatable?...

Most of the time it's just delete. But we are the same, if someone has taken the time to actually read our profile then they will certainly get a reply. Ive had some great conversations with people I would never meet

I would prefer a no Thankyou message then the lady can feel free to block me as long as there was a reply I wouldn't mind

I think...and have had on many occasions just had a 'thanks but no thanks' message, I feel that this is the best approach, it lets me know that they have had a look and I'm not for them, I think that it's rude to just ignore or block if someone has taken the time to send you a message unless of course it's the good old one liner....fancy a fuck message !!! Those you can deal with how you please because it does not effect me lol

I just go on my mood of the day and whether the messages catch my eye

Bit odd to say no thanks when someone has only messaged with a compliment or is only saying hi

When I send a message to someone I like the look of I generally forget about it,I don't check to see whats happened to it
