"With the national speed limit being set at 70mph, do we really need cars that go way beyond that limit?. Is it a good idea to restrict the speed a car can go?. Don't shoot me, lol, It's just a thought." The company I work for implemented a restricted vehicle policy and I was given a small van that could not go faster than 68mph. The problem with that is that trying to overtake a HGV that is also restricted to 68 is impossible as neither vehicle can go faster than the other if they are both travelling at the maximum speed possible. The other problem was that other cars/small vans expected me to be able to go faster and got quite irate when I didn't. When you are regularly driving 300-400 miles in a single trip you need to have a burst of speed every now and then to break up the monotony of it, as trundling along at a fixed speed of 68mph is soul-destroying. I took the vehicle back after a week and told them I'd supply my own if they inisisted I drive a restricted vehicle. I now have a nice Astra that goes like a bullet lol. | |||
