Norwich

Just got back from a couple of days in London. Loved it. I always enjoy the buzz, but even so, I wouldn't want to live there. Life in a small city suits me just right, especially with the sea close by.

What kind of living suits you? Are you a town mouse or a country mouse at heart?

We from galway in west coast of eire, even though its termed a city it is in fact a good sized town.

Its ideal as it has all the conveniences at hand, seaside town and the countryside is just a few mins drive away.

Clacton on sea, Essex

I used to live in West Ham, East London & like Salford it was a rough place to live,

I moved to Essex about 20 years ago & wouldn't go back if they paid me.

Clacton is big enough to shop, eat & socialise in with the bonus of the sea & countryside.

Job's are few & far between in our area but at least i don't have to worry about burglary or serious crime...countryside any day.

I love living close to the sea and all the beautiful countryside,could'nt live in a city,the buzz does'nt last long but I love doing the tourist thing in London

Could never live in somewhere like London, with all due respect to those who do.

One of the great things about somewhere like Glasgow is that you have access to everything you could want in the 21st century, but within about 30 minutes from it's centre you can be in the middle of beautiful countryside.

i hate. London with a passion,i get pavement rage just walking around it.I love living in Eastbourne as i have the sea in front of me and the downs behind me.

I live in a small village right on the coast in west Wales. It's very rural and we're miles from everywhere. The nearest city is Swansea which is an hour and 40 mins away. I luv visiting big cities but it's always nice to come home. I was in Birmingham a few weeks ago and I missed the birds waking me up at 4am. Got woken up by nois workmen and their machinery instead

We live in a rural village just outside Truro. Truro is a city but it's no where near as big as my hometown in the Black Country.

We live 30mins from a beach and are surrounded by countryside.

It's bloody lovely

I would love to have a pad in Central London that I can call my home where I can bring my pets with me to stay whenever I feel like it.

However, I prefer to spend more time in the countryside, have a house with a garden in somewhere relatively quiet, and have easy access to the great outdoors.

I grew up in the country and while it was a great place to grow up I am now a city girl. I could never go back to living in the country again. I love visiting the countryside, but I would get bored living there. I love London and the hustle and bustle and I am never short of something to do.

I`m Bumpkin!

Seriously though, I`m lucky that in where I live is right on the edge of the Cranborne Chase AONB. Strangely, the houses in my road are mostly 1950`s ex local authority semis whereas the rest of the listed cottages in the village and outside the AONB. I have a love - hate relationship with London. Love visiting but when it`s time to go home I`m happy too but as Waterloo station slips out of view (I usually visit London by train) I have that feeling of loss that I`m going to miss it. I have a friend who lives in a part of Bristol that`s about a couple of miles away from the city centre and I could live there fairly happily. It seems to be a great place for families as the youngsters complete with supervising parents were out in force "trick or treating" one night when I was visiting and it all looked very civiised.

But deep down it`s the countryside for me! Born in the house I`m living in and the last house I leave with a wooden overcoat on will be this house if I`ve got any say in the matter!

Having lived in the counyryside all my life I would like to live in a big city at least a while just to experiance the hustle and bustl on a daily basis rather than just a tourist. I think though the wild would soom call me back, I am a country mouse at heart.

I have always known the country , lived in the city and I just couldn't hack it , being a single guy and not having any tie downs I like the country and my own place out in the sticks , however , where my folks brought me up I hate with a passion which is in middle of no where , now I am only 15 min drive from central city, I work even further into country and I do lack always have the socail side to being central but that's my choosen path in life !!
