Why when I very politely and sensitively decline to meet people on here do I, on occasion, get verbally abused about how I look? ... I know its just spitting their dummy out however it makes me feel they have serious anger issues.

Still make me feel like crap tho..

Sadly some people cannot handle rejection well.

The usual advice applies, report-delete-block.

When it happens there is usually no time to block. After a foul mouthed tirade and a personal attack they either block or leave the site. Quite childish really but we agree annoying and unnecessary.

This is the reason why people do NOT respond. Save yourself the heartache and don't respond.

Have a look at my opening paragraph on my profile, as it's apt.

You should be congratulating yourself on proper judgement of the original message, after all you wouldn't want to meet people like that and you spotted it. Well done

Treat every shitO'gram you receive as a positive validation of your good judgement not to consider meeting the person

I actually appreciate a 'thanks but no thanks' type of message. I guess I'm one of the few that will accept it and move on. I fully understand that women and couples are often inundated with messages and are hard pressed to reply to all of them. I suppose that's why I find it feels good to even get a response, even if its a 'no'...lol.

I'm sorry, I don't get this. As a single male on the site, I can't understand why - often but not exclusively single men - people get irate when they get rejected, slagging off the person who they have obviously wanted to have a meet with.

My advice to you is, rather than being upset or offended by these people, be thankful that you have rejected them as they're obviously wankers!

"Some people can't face rejection and they lash out because they can't have what they want..

Its a bit like only child syndrome they get spoilt and expect to get what they want.. sad really.."

Because some dudes on here think that because they ask, they expect to get. They forget that women on here do have a choice.

Least that's my view.

Now that type of abuse is of course acceptable

Its not just single men though...... The worst abuse I have received is from couples & that's just from a polite "thanks but no"

I had this yesterday! Was called a timewaster and told I was just 'all talk' amongst other things for not sending a face pic even though I said no thanks in my first reply. Put me in a crap mood for the rest of the day. It'll teach me to block first next time instead of ignoring and deleting the other six messages he sent
