finger licking good

you know when someone goes to court, or has inquest all them kinds of things. the court most times is open yea, anyone can go on and listen. has anyone here done that just gone in no reason to be there just to have a listen?

can you just turn up? i am thinking of going to have a nose

Yeah done it a couple of times at Newcastle Crown Court. You just roll up and sit watching from the gallery.

It's a great way to spend a pissy wet afternoon

And I've been on the other end of Newcastle Crown Court as well, sadly not watching from the gallery lol

And I've been on the jury at the same court , so you could say that I've seen it from all angles

The local papers ususlly go to have a nose for anything scandalous too

yup...most cases are open hearings..best check with court clerk first tho....you don't wanna be walking in on a closed session....won't go down too well .... have fun

shoulda said....avoid magistrates court....is all the dross....head for the crown court for the juicier stuff

I have worked at crown court so been there officially lol.. You can go into the public gallery and sit in on most cases.

First it depends if it is an open court or not. Most are open but sensitive cases are not. Most courts will have at least one public gallery open if not more but there are limited numbers and surprisingly some cases are popular.

What you have to remember though it to be polite, keep quiet and behave as most JP’s don’t tolerate dissension no matter how small.

I would recommend most people going once as its interesting to see how the law is interpreted and it doesn’t always pan out as you would think. Domestic incidents are some of the most interesting btw. Nothing like a wild wife recalling why she perused her husband with a cleaver.

Yes if it is stated as open court.

At my late partner's inquest, the reporter who interviewed me after his death, came in and sat at the back to take notes.

Other people were there too, like his colleagues and friends etc...
