Everything I've had so far

king prawn/prawn/crab/squid/bass/sea bream/mackerel/cod/plaice/skate Mmmmm

wasn't mad on lobster but think it might have been the chef not the lobster as everything in the meal wasn't great

love catching shrimps with the proper net you push along the seabed/boil them on the beach in seawater/chilli dip and brown bread simple but gorgeous

to end a perfect day of watching my team win the last proper friendly b4 the premier league starts, few beers before and after the game in the pub by the ground then down town I am going to finish it with a takeaway of king prawn chilli balti

happy days indeed

imo if its a fish its food and if it comes from the sea its sea food

know what you mean though some people talk about seafood as shellfish etc

"Squid, shallow fried in simple flour batter and home made mayo Now I'm salivating.... "

I do this one when peckish after the pub

Spicy treat: Chilli spiced calamari

Serves 6

INGREDIENTS

350g (12oz) squid, cleaned

2tbsp plain flour

1tsp smoked paprika

Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper

Sunflower oil, for deep frying

1 egg, beaten

1tsp chilli flakes

1 lemon, cut into wedges

METHOD

Separate the squid tubes from the tentacles and cut the tubes into 1cm (½in) rings.

Pat the squid rings and tentacles dry with kitchen paper. Mix the plain flour and paprika together and season with salt and pepper.

Pour enough oil into a pan for deep frying and heat until a cube of bread dropped into it turns golden within 30 seconds.

Dip the squid into the beaten egg and allow the excess to drip off. Coat in the flour and carefully drop them into the hot oil.

Fry for 1-2 minutes, until golden, then carefully remove with a slotted spoon and drain on kitchen paper. Scatter over the chilli flakes and some sea salt, and serve with lemon wedges

Prawns are quite high in cholesterol so not all totally healthy. I wonder if that's what makes them so tasty?
