Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Please can I ask those going to the Lakes in a caravan tomorrow to travel after midday so that I stand a fair chance of getting there before I have to go out in the evening for dinner?

Thank you.

Most sat-navs direct drivers along the A30 route to Cornwall. This leaves other routes relatively congestion free. Was down there last week, not held up in traffic once.

I don't know of any other than the A30. It would be good to know of others.

From Plymouth there's the A38 but it's shite, and from North Devon suppose you could use A39, but it's a trek to get there

Torquay

There are reportedly more visitors to Devon and Cornwall this summer than for many a year, the economy and recent good weather have had a lot to do with this...and thank god, as the region needs all the visitors and all the income it can get.

It's getting harder to park in the South West coastal towns over the last few weeks and that is a very good sign that money is pouring into the area.

We were there two weekends ago and it threw it down.

It's a running joke that whenever we visit family it's always raining. We lived there for the summer of 2007 and it seemed to rain pretty much all the way through.

I am not sure Somerset wants to be turned into a carpark! Just to enable Devon and Cornwall to have a park &ride
