MANCHESTER

Without giving away the plot to Mission Impossible 2 I've just moved from ESA to JSA after a year and an half.

During this period I've been researching self employment, non-comformist... And polyamours. Basically I think outside the box and I enjoy being far away from the maddening crowd.

As you can imagine Job centre aren't exactly giving me the freedom I've been used to during my ill time.

First there's the 35 hour job search which is making me scratch my bald head.

I mean I do research and look at the projects I'm interested in being self employed about.

I'd like an online store and to test the water I've been selling things around the house to see which websites work the best for me.

Big mistake telling job centre about that.

Because now every time I make a sale not only do they want to know about it (That I get and would be okay with to a point) but if I sale over a certain amount they will reduce my JSA.

In an time of an double dip recession it strikes me as foolish to declare such things and I'm frightened it could fuck me up completely in terms of making ends meet.

I wonder if anyone is on the new universe credit thing (as I believe this is the old system I am talking about) and if it helps or hinder you in this time of struggling to make ends meet.

If they've told you it's a 35 hour job search that's a lie for a start. It's 3 hours a day, not including weekends and bank holidays. You're to sign into their own website seven times a week, not seven days (twice a day for three days and then one other time during the week).

They are bald faced liars and incompetents though because ask them for anything and they will screw it up because the government dowsnt want them giving money away to begin with.

It's been six months nearly since I asked to be put on a course for a Food Hygiene Certificate and they made me wait for four months, then screwed it up for me when I was about to go on the course.

Lo and behold, I just finished training that I acquired myself with the local homeless shelter and without reason, my benefits have just been stopped!

Fuck them, dont trust them, think outside the box and get your plans into motion quickly. If you cant, jump into part time work if its available and keep planning in your spare time

Why don't you sign off, declare yourself as self employed and working 30 hours a week and claim working tax credits?

Before you do make sure you ask the Jobcentre about the Flexible Support Fund for your business needs such as getting business cards or something.

Or you could ask about New Enterprise Allowance which would help you set up a business plan and lead you toward becoming self employed and reduce your benefits gradually... Once ready to sign off you can do all of the above too.

Utterly fucking tempted to. I hate being on JSA and anything I can do to be independent and getting help for testing the waters, I'm up for.

Also how does my personal adviser not know about the nothing is taxable in my goddamn BLOODCLAART flat?!

Fucking idiot. And they reduced funding for public services.
