Yes. It could be you were just 'pipped' by a slightly better candidate, last time. Rejection doesn't mean you're not good enough - it just means that you weren't the best candidate at that time.

I applied for a civil service job a few years back.....was offered the job, but then coalition got in and froze recruitment. Offer was taken back.

.

.

Job came up again recently. I applied. Got told that I did not meet their minimum criteria.......for the same job I was offered before....go figure????

Definitely apply again. I got rejected for the first civil service post I applied for so applied for another lower post. Got that and never looked back. Twenty odd years later and I was running the north west division. NEVER give up!! X

If you get stuck on a question use the glass of water as a diversion. It will give u valuable seconds to calm yourself and think of the best answer (tho shaky hands are a no no lol)thoroughly prepare ( the old communicstion, team player, what can you bring to this role responses- so you are super confident. ) in the current climate expect a few questions about value for money. Good luck.

You could always apply and if yer lucky and get an interview play your joker.

Tell them to go fuck themselves.

Yes, apply again for sure. Relax and be yourself in the interview. Do your homework and look confident. Good luck

I heard through a contact that MI5 were recruiting "watchers " a few months ago

James Bond is truly alive in the civil service

I applied to be an inspector at one of their agencies, got selected to attend a selection weekend with other candidates, to be informed that although I was capable of doing the job based on my knowledge and experience, I would not fit into the organisation, as it would be akinned to trying to fit a round peg to a square hole.

When I heard about whom they had selected from the group of interviewees, I could understand why I would not fit in, as I am to jolly and easy to please etc.

I gave up the idea of being an inspector for the government after that and have not regrets.
