There was a piece on the news about them trialing a new style shop with a creche/playgroup, restaurants (including Giraffe), more European style hypermarket displays with fancy breads, plus your online offering being available in-store.

They've started changing The layout in my local branch Lickerty . ...' a pigs ear ' springs to mind ...have to wait for The smoke to settle , ...but its refreshing to see new foods available , ...The changing face of Britain has its compensations !

I think it's a bit cruel including a giraffe, unless they intend training them to get stuff off the high shelves for us shortarses

the days of going to the shops is numbered, stores will move out of towns and we will shop on line, less choice, cheaper prices, benefits us all, I mean most people buy same 50 items each week,

A giraffe would be handy in Asda, they seem to have increasingly taller shelving.

I'm always being asked by little old ladies if i'd just reach up and get something down for them. Bet they only do it to get a butchers at my bronzed torso.

On topic, a few more reasons to avoid Tesco's.

I think that was one of the trial ones mentioned. Have you got a Giraffe there?

folkestone

I would imagine Tesco are introducing things that will increase their profit margins and get rid of the electrical goods they sell in their big stores, as the profit margin on these are very small.

Would be an idea for Tesco to concentrate on focusing on customer service in their stores first as it's currently rubbish. Went in there the other day, and most of the staff seem to think it was non uniform day.

The one in pitsea had a huge make over at the beginning of year, it's like walking into a department store now and I think it looks great. Much rather go to that one than the smaller one closer.

That's the plan for all the new and large ones, I understand from the news item.
