"Corn on the cob is a good option. Blanch it first. No need, just cook it slowly on the bbq, tastes delicious" Nobody cooks slowly on a barbie. Torch the outside a quickly as possible and leave the inside raw. Not wise with corn on the cob.

"I'm ok cooking vegetarian meals, but am having a family BBQ this weekend and two of the people coming are vegetarians and I need some ideas Can anyone help me, other than quorn sausages etc" my top tip is don't cook the veggy food after you have cooked the meat im a veggy and i've been to a few BBQs where people have put the veggy food on the BBQ after taking meat off and I've had to decline eating it

"If they eat fish, and hopefully like fish, then just wrap some salmon or a tuna steak in foil and chuck it on the BBQ for them. It won't get contaminated that way. Then vegetable skewers etc to go with them " Mackerel's well tasty if you're making it fishy. Don't wrap in foil but place over BBQ grill and make a few holes in it.

"Tell them you only have meat products to eat then you if you are lucky they will go before they bore you to death about the evils of eating meat." Just cos someone is vegetarian doesn't mean they will preach about it! Its my choice not to eat meat, but my son does and I understand humans are omnivorves. It is just my choice

"Thanks everyone, was a great success and was amazing the number of meat eaters who commented on how good the vegitarian options looked " "Ere Gloria you seen that stuff by the burgers? " "Ooh yes Mavis I have doesn't it look pretty ! " "What's it for? " "Dunno but Muriel over there has half of it hanging out of her chuff" "Oh nice ! be a love and pass us another bit of chicken "

Torch the outside a quickly as possible and leave the inside raw. Not wise with corn on the cob." Wrap in foil with butter or vegetable spread and put on the BBQ. They cook beautifully. If you know what you are doing you only have charcoal on the front half or one side that way you can slow cooking down by putting things on the other side. Google Stephen Reichlen - he is a BBQ GOD!!
