I am type 2 diabetic and after having many extensive bloods tests after just 3 days i was summoned to have a GTT at the local hospital. I know that i have type 1 coming at me because both my father and sister have it.

But i can't help thinking that if it is type 1 or even if the levels have gone up anyway because type 2 is diet and exercise controlled, that i could of helped myself but took no notice.

Today was a massive wake up call for me as i am upset with myself..

So onward and up and be good from now on.

I know that we have had threads on this subject before, but what i would like to know are there any of you lovely people that have crossed over from type 2 to 1 and how did you feel about ??

Ruby !!

I am type 2 , not too bothered, until I found my eyesight was starting to be affected, I had a control number of 9 ( six monthly blood test) I have changed onto a new drug called bydureon, which is a once weekly injection, my sugar control is now gold standard 6, over past 6 months

ask about it, usually not offered because its expensive.

I'm type 2, but have been quite naughty about the whole diabetes situation.

I'm now going in for major surgery and have been told that if my levels stay as they are, I'll be put on insulin pre and post op, which may keep me in hospital longer.

Guess who's taking it all seriously now...hopefully not too late

Think its time i start looking at my diet

my sugar levels must be through the roof

8 coffees a day each with 3 sugar

4 (500ml) energy drinks

that's minimum every day

oh shite, time to try change me thinks.

Look into organic virgin coconut oil, a spoon a day will reduce your levels - reported in many instances.

unfortunately with diabeties , one of the following will happen, stroke, heart attack, kidney failure, blindness or losing a limb, so longer u can control it the better.

diabeties wont be the cause of death, but it always triggers something else, that will be

Sweeteners in particular aspartame also incredbly concerning.

Fudged figures upon license sanctioning.

Ribena, better option but high fructose syrup also to be delved into.
