Ted's Thurdsday Rant...!!

So far this week I have lost three days earnings and am probably going to lose two more(very, very bad at this time of year), had a part for my car take twice as long as the main dealer said it would to get it, they then give me 'duff gen' about how 'easy' the job is to do (it's a clutch cylinder, for the uber-geeks out there), wait for my normal guy to come round for over a day as he's suddenly stacked out with work himself (oh lucky him!!), only for him to tell me that the main dealer was 'talking out of his arse' and the car has got to go into a garage with a lift as you cannot do the job without.

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!

Rant over.

I do feel better for that.

Now back to me porridge...

Which clutch cylinder? Master or slave, the master is generally pretty easy but the slave often requires the gearbox off.

I feel your pain mate, mines currently off the road too. The battery finally gave up last week (after 8yrs) and the replacement I was sent is a duff 'un (probably been sat on a shelf for years full of acid and just discharged/died over time). Waiting for them to pick it up and replace it seems to be taking forever. Luckily I only work 3 miles from home so I can walk.

Hope you get it sorted soon.

Seems like you've had a week from hell like myself, say bad luck comes in three's so bad luck over. Well hopefully next week be better maybe buy lottery ticket incase sudden change of luck

The battery finally gave up last week (after 8yrs) and the replacement I was sent is a duff 'un (probably been sat on a shelf for years full of acid and just discharged/died over time). Waiting for them to pick it up and replace it seems to be taking forever. Luckily I only work 3 miles from home so I can walk.

Yep, it's the Master. Got the part. Looks easy.... until you realise it's got to go on to a Peugeot 807 people carrier.... Because the end with the hard pip on has to go through the bulkhead and connect up in the engine bay, that's why it has to go on a lift

Cars? Who'd 'ave 'em.... ???

The hiz viz is neatly folded up in my car which is sitting on the drive - fit and healthy to use ..... oh oooops sorry yours isn't is it lol .............

Yup, who'd have em...

I'm hoping my problem is just a goosed battery, if its the starter motor I've got to drop the exhaust off and lower the front subframe to access the nuts that hold it on, then, remove the inlet plenum to disconnect the wiring!...I really don't fancy doing that on my drive...lol

Good news!

I got my car started.

Bad news...

There's a fault in the main wiring loom that's causing all my problems, looks like I have to chase an Italian auto-electricians handy work round the engine bay!
