Having a whinge.

Huddersfield, centralish

I have been getting this weird pain in my right foot/ankle. Doesn't seem to happen for any particular reason, some days I just wake up with it.

It starts off like I can't put my foot flat on the ground without it feeling like I've broken a bone in the top of my foot, so I end up walking funny, putting my foot to one side etc. This then causes my calf to become uncomfortable and then my knee and if it goes on all day I have sciatic pain in the top of my right leg by the end of the day - deep joy!

I have got a doctors appointment and am not expecting any medical advice - though if anyone does have a bloody clue what it could be I'd be interested in hearing it!

I'm sat on my bed and I need a wee and I also need to eat as I didn't have any tea but I'm putting it off because I have to go down the stairs and I know it's going to hurt like a bastard.

Whinge over.

I want to get referred to the same physio I saw for my knee a few years ago - she gave me accupuncture and it was bliss. I really feel like I want someone to stick needles in my foot/ankle/leg and make it all better!

sounds very much like gout, a build up uric acid, usually starts by banging or knocking a toe or your foot, if it is ask about allopurinol, it prevents flare ups

That's interesting as I was told when I had knee problems that my muscles are very tight in my legs

"I seem to get this but my toes often feel numb also?"

Have you seen anyone about it? Could be something trapped if you're getting numbness.

I suffer from gout and it doesn't sound like that to me. My gout is a very painful toe it just makes my foot swell up I can't bend it and need my stick to walk and when I sleep I can't bare anything to touch it. Maybe it's a trapped nerve. Sounds very painful you should rest it.

Well I hobbled down to the landing, cleaned up the giant hairball the cat left for me, had a wee, hobbled down to the kitchen and made a chicken sandwich with a side order of codeine, then hobbled back upstairs to my room. It doesn't help that the stairs in my house are fooking lethal and totally not suitable for bum sliding.

I do wear flat shoes but that isn't anything new so not like I've just started wearing flat shoes if you get me. Let me know how you go at the docs!
