This stands to reason. As with any area of life increased exposure equals increased awareness. Of course that is no guarantee that you'll be inundated with messages but intelligent, amusing contributions to threads that interest you can only result in positive effects. Joining the conversation can only be a good thing

The last time I used the browse button was a heck long time ago.

The meets I've had outside the forum have not been that great.

The meets I've had in the forum have by FAR been the best, because you can gauge pretty well if your gonna click with them or not.

I've got a much better idea of who I'm hooking up with if it was a forumite.

I also find there is a lot more to talk about due to previous convos/threads in the past.

I for one certainly do not fuck anything that moves, there has to be an element of "Yeah, I'd meet this person".

Outside of fab forums, you literally have little to no idea what is in front of you.

The meets I've had outside of this forum I was bored out of my fucking face.

I met a lady in Scotland recently, she doesn't post much in the England forums, every now and then she does..she's the exception as I would defo meet her again.

Generally speaking, the forums are a good way to scope someones personality etc..etc.. before considering getting naked.

I think it depends on the topic you have posted in. we Have spoken to many forum users over the time we have been using this site, they do tend to be the best for banter but sorry not the best to meet as a lot are only here for the forums. But feel free to prove me wrong

I personally think, and this isn't a moan by the way just an observation, there is deffo a 'clique' on these forums and they all seem to meet each other, if you look at a certain group of people they all have met each other and I'm guessing not really looking to join others in so unless you are part of this clique i wouldn't have thought using the forums to get messages or meets will benefit you

The old adage what you put in you get back out..... I post often with a witty outlook or a serious comment but rarely too intense or nasty. Likewise I have messaged or had messages from forumites for genuine reasons not "just to get noticed" from all over the country and hope to have social meets with some and have played with others.

I wouldn't agree with this at all.....I can see there are groups of regular posters that meet each other etc, but I certainly wouldn't class us as part of that, but have still got chattering to and have met Other forum users.

This may well be true but it's only a small group of forum users that you are referring to and there are many others, especially others that just read and rarely contribute, that may find you interesting from your posts.

I get a lot more messages when I post on here, as I do if I go on to chat, I guess it's because who would notice me otherwise as I live in the back of beyond!

I think the OP has a point - especially if you live in a large town or city with lots of local posters.

I don't, but have noticed a number of profile viewings when I've been busy posting. Almost always from people who are hundreds of miles away!

Yes forumites are in a minority of site users, but over time you do get to know people's views and you can form an opinion on whether you wish to meet them, or whether you'd run a mile. Postings often show a different person to the profile. Many forget, or don't know the revelatory power of the green arrow!

The only messages I've had were from people questioning why I'm on here without my wife's knowledge. I've had quite a few people look at my profile directly as a result of posting on here. No meets though, but that could be for other more obvious reasons.

Personally, yes, I have met people through the forums who I would probably never have even contemplated messaging, let alone meeting, and they have generally been some of the most pleasurable meets I've had.

Ruby has also had a few meets as a direct result of giving her tuppneyworth here, but most of hers have come from guys being besotted with her tits....er, I mean pics....

Compared to a forum I used to moderate years ago, there is much less of any form of 'cliquery' here than I experienced elsewhere to be honest. True, it can look daunting for a lot of people pressing the button and posting for the first time, and even I went through that on Fabs to begin with. Having said that, this is the ONLY place I have ever come across threads welcoming new members, forum lurkers etc and encouraging them to post, AND over the last few months there has been a noticable increase in new contributors, either starting threads or just commenting on existing ones.

Yes, some of us who are regulars on here do get together for socials (like the one last weekend at Cupids) - that is to be expected. There is only so long you can correspond with one person or a group in a situation like this before you just want to put a face to a name/persona (and not necessarily shag 'em!!) and naturally those who have met in the 'real world' will have an added 'something' to the way they communicate here.

That's forums.... they are more or less the same the internet over.....

2 points here! I'm not a fan of the 'c' word but accept that others will have their views! And yes there are many regulars on the forums that do meet eachother - but why not? Doesn't mean to say they don't meet elsewhere too - via PM's, chat, clubs etc. I for one have met a fair few forumites now. Some just for social interaction but yes, i'll confess - there's many a poster i'd love to get naked with! (Not you Paddy - you're safe!) It's just another site tool so if it gets you more messages and eventually meets then great - if not - also great, as it's a fun way to waste time on site!

As for point 2 - I used to get frustrated with threads and posts getting pulled by the mods - but in hindsight and having spent more time on here I've learnt that they have their 'rules' to abide by and i'm pretty sure that 99% of the time there's no personal reason for anything they do - it's just what needs to be done to keep everything under control and friendly!

When I first joined in the forums (tin hat and flack jacket to hand), I believed everyone knew everyone and had met each other .........then I realised they hadn't, and people were having banter based on their perceptions of each other through their regular postings in the forums, yes I have attended socials and met regular forum posters and yes I know I am considered to be part of the "clique", this comes from regular posting, regular banter, and messaging from postings - you get back what you put in .........

Totally agree. When I first started reading forum posts, I always had a giggle. Then I started to join in, and, after going to a few socials, chatting and bantering back and forth with people I had met made it great fun.

I have gotten messages as a result of me posting but in the main, it's more a case of an increase in who's looked at me.

get along to socials and then maybe the distance wouldnt be a problem
