Harsh?

First of all the facts.

1. Both people live at home with parents of whom both can't do much because of disability.

2. One person has paid rent and contributed towards food/drink, etc, regardless of the price and has done so for nearly 8 and a half years. Whereas the other person pays "what they can" for the last 3 months.

3. With the money they got from that persons rent they decided to do that persons up that needs doing and in the meantime. Due to damages. The owner of the house got into debt to buy a new bed.

4. Due to having a massive wardrobe and shelves, desk, etc. They are taking up about 5 rooms with their stuff to which there is a serious hazard of anyone hurting themselves badly (possibly death) . Never mind if you are slightly d*unk or even disabled.

5. The persons room that's being decorated is taken a while because that person claims to be working all the time, yet they dot start work until later in the day and the have a hectic social life. To which sometimes if its an all nighter. She spends the night at a mates.

6. The situation hasn't changed in about a month.

As I have nearly hurt myself on gadgets. I have come out and said "if its like this on my next free weekend. I will literally put all the stuff in bags and carry all the heavy stuff back into that room. Regardless if the room is ready or not and if things get damaged. Tough. Although I will try and be careful with the gadgets".

My attitude has been I am organised with my stuff. Even when my room was decorated I put my social on hold until it was sorted. So if I finish work after a long day and get asked to go for a drink, go for a meal, etc. Why should I decline my free time to help this other person whose out every day doing all sorts and when they are back. They just laze around when they could be sorting things out.

Am I being too harsh here?

Same as before, if you have issues sharing your parents house with your siblings, move out don't expect our sympathy on the forums

Yes because I have a spare £80,000+ in my back pocket . Secondly I wasn't looking for sympathy. I was just checking if I was being harsh.

"

Am I being too harsh here?"

Hey bro...

Why don't you just sort of de-clutter that post and just say:

"Some dickhead is taking too long to do a room and I'm really pissed off and I told him really aggressively that I'm gonna dump his bags in his room before a d*unk trips over them and spews..am I being too harsh here?"

Share with others then...

Move.

if your parents are disabled there are agencies, support workers etc who can help them to function....

just a thought...

Talk about twisting my words. My parents are disabled and I am saying if I am being careful and even then its quite easily to hurt myself. Imagine what my parents can do when they can badly stand at times. never mind walk.

OP the question is do your parents think he needs to get his arse in gear? If so they should tell him/her to sort it out and give a deadline.

Exactly my point. They said it takes 3 or 4 costs due to the way t was decorated before as the previous colour is so strong. So I worked it out as 10 hours then.

To be honest thinking about it if it were me and I was worried about mine and my disabled parents safety I'd offer to help just to get it done.

Sorry OP but had enough of my two squabbling as they moved from children to adult stage, so have no patience for it on an adult site. Now they are in their own places they get on fine, but the adolescent years is something I couldn't live through again.

Hey listen. .

To answer your question directly..no your not being harsh by ssying that.

I've said a LOT worse than that believe me.

Seriously, if you get your own place ...you answer to nobody and you can do your own thing.

I moved out 5 years ago.

Because every time there is an "incident". I am the one who gets the blame for not sorting it out. Everyone is out. So I have postponed my plans to do it. I am half way through 1 room now. Can't say I am happy through. Although I rather do it now. Saves time and grief.

Sorry for being thick and not quite getting it, I can't read the opening thread again.

OP are you saying that you live with your parents and a brother or sister. You pay more rent each month, they dont pay as much, they don't keep things tidy and decorating their room is taking a long time because they won't do it quickly as they are out socialising etc.

That's just normal siblings for you. They do get on your nerves, that's normal. In lots of families there is the organised child and the disorganised one, both types irritate each other.

That is the jist of it, yes. But the point was I was told if I had that much of a problem to tidy it myself. Also using 5 rooms to store your junk whilst decorating 1 very small room is taking it too far in my opinion. As for mess in general. I agree sometimes it gets on my nerves a bit. Its just when I get told to tidy the mess. It does my head in as I believe if you're fully able. You should clean up after yourselves. Anyway one room is done to the best of my ability. So there's no more tripping over things now.

The main point I was making was. If I said I was going to sort it out my way if its not done by a certain time and no one likes my way. Am I being harsh considering its been a while, its not getting done and safety is invoked?

No your not harsh in saying, it probably won't change because siblings do wind each other up. Have a rant to your sibling, your mates etc and then try and relax about it

if we are so dull leave or dont frequent the forums! you have had some serious responses on here and on other threads you have posted, to throw your dollies out of the pram like this is not going to help make you any friends on here now is it and thats all a clique is, groups of posters who have got to know each other through regular posting. no one has been overly harsh to you on ehre yet you choose to insult everyone - what a nice man you are

Chatting someone and they say they have been banned for no reason at all. Yet they aim other forum members can get away with posting stuff.

Its got like this because there have been a lot of sarcastic/stupid comments. There is another thread on here that talks about users that join and leave shortly after and I ain't surprised of this is how they get treated.

Why would you come onto a swinger's forum asking for advice on such matter? Appears to us you came on here expecting sympathy and since you didn't get that you thought you would slag off people in the forum. How about grow up, grow some balls and sort out your own shit.

The thing with public forums mate is you have to be able to ignore the bits you don't like. You can also judge the type of threads which will get responses that will poke fun or be daft. Rants are one of these. Take it in your stride

How did we get from my sibling is annoying me and getting away with stuff I don't to forum posters are dull and clique......I was confused after reading the original post, now I'm even more confused. Perhaps it's because I'm blonde and a little bit dizzy that I've got a bit lost on this thread....

Bridgwater - Somerset

Actually I do think the OP has had a slightly harsh response.

Cluttered house and disabled parents with risk of accident will not be solved if he moves out. Also the possibility that other siblings are taking advantage of parents in not paying their way.

I've no easy solution, but people do jump to conclusions.

Just to even things out - OP, it was a bit of a rant and not as clear as it could have been.
