Yesterday's papers full of reports he's off to Madrid for around £105 million pound deal involving cash + other players, heard today Levvy and AVB are looking ahead to the new season with bale in there side and adamant hes not for sale.Any Tottenham fans know whats going on

Which club is going to turn down that kind of money.

Bale will be gone before the season starts.

He's asked to go but not put in a written transfer request.

I guess he's expecting all sorts of financial rewards but if he puts in a written request it would jeopardise that.

Real Madrid sound minted... Brighton's Amex Stadium cost about the same...madness! !!

I'm a Spurs fan and as far as I can tell nothing has been agreed so far but seriously doubt Levy will turn it down. It's a shame if he goes but as they say 'Money talks' x

He's a special player but IF the majority of the fee is ploughed back into the squad it would no doubt strengthen it.

Is he worth that sort of money,he was phenomenal last season but was it a one off,,is he in the bracket of Ronaldo and messi, neymar that all have huge price tags,,,i think he's a world class player but still have doubts they would get a return for that sort of money

He's a great player, he'll do well wherever he goes, ....................better than Ronaldo .....................but not at diving

Levy ain't daft, he,ll go for stupid money and/or with useful player exchange.

But yes Real are certainly breaking all rules and supposed code of conduct. All clubs do though anyway or most.

As a Championship follower and Premier neutral he,ll will be missed

Is that a new stadium or redevelopment of White Hart Lane?

not far from iceland,,,,,, tescos is nearer though :-) (near leeds)

From an outsiders view, if I were Gareth bale, Tottenham are unlikely to be premier champions , financially they can t compete with Chelsea or man city and probably not man utd similar to arsenal they re playing for champions league places,, if they qualify for the champions league they re unlikely to win it,

Internationally being Welsh his career is likely to be similar to George bests and never grace the highest stages,

So off to Madrid where he s likely to challenge for league titles and champions league titles,

Spend the money wisely Tottenham and send Defoe, Lennon huddlestone to Leeds please,,

There is no way that he is better than Ronaldo...or Messi :s Yes he is awesome at times, and very good at others, but on occasions he is also very poor and you wouldn't know he's on the pitch. I say this, not as a United supporter but as someone who watches many spurs games because a few friends support them. However, after saying that, I would still want him playing in the red of the devils shirt Not worth the money Madrid are paying though!!

One good season does not make a world record player.

If he replicates that form again for spurs in the premier league, then from the point of view of Real Madrid, then yes maybe.

But on the strength of one season, albeit an outstanding season. It is still only one season.

To be classed in the same league as the Christiano Ronaldo' s of this world, you gotta play like that consistently/more than one season.

Jury still out on Bale.

Spurs are being wary as they have offered whatever huge amount but are still waiting on money for modric as someone said earlier , would you be eager to sell a really expensive item to someone who already owes you money from last year ?

they had a really good article about that in the guardian yesterday, and while the debt may look bad... it actually is sustainable....

http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/aug/03/real-madrid-uefa-financial-fair-play

so if bale signs for lets say 100 mil... but he signs a 6 year deal... the cost is spread over the entire contract for the purpose of fair play....

"Forca Barca "

actually the way both madrid and barcelona tend to do their business is not nice at the best of times, both use their "papers" to unsettle players (madrid have marca, barca have AS) to get round the tampering rules, and both try to make players hand in transfer requests to drive down the prices......

and both normally play over installments over a long long time... for example real are still paying tottenham for modric, barca are still paying arsenal for fabregas
