Is it normal to be over reflective when you hit a major age milestone?

I turn 40 in 142 days

Of course it's normal. But it doesn't get you anywhere.

Often hark back to earlier times.....but find it is a pointless exercise......people and times change so just gotta keep moving on and looking forward

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I overthink all milestones. I like a get together for a birthday.

Fifty in a 20 months is going to be odd as I'm no longer in touch with the others with whom I used to share the birthday.

Had a letter from Department of Works and Pensions today to tell me I've got to work until I'm 66

I hope I'm still alive when I'm 66

Kate's 50 next May and we're taking the family to Corfu

So you could say that Kate's not bothered about turning 50

I spent my 40th in bed bawling my eyes out. I dyed my hair blue to signify the "blue rinse" brigade...

Funny thing 50 was a blast!!! Go figure!

I was similar but 10 years different...bloody suicidal when I hit 30 (might have had something to do with being unhappily married), loved hitting 40 as a singleton...50 is 3 and a bit years off and the thought of it hasn't phased me so far

I'll be 60 in a couple of months. For a number of reasons I didn't expect to see 30.

Each 'big' birthday has been much enjoyed.

my 21st was my last milestone.. was going to hire a boat and do a river cruise but it was a tad more expensive than i thought, had a fancy dress karaoke night instead. Brilliant night i think, the pictures filled in gaps

was handcuffed to a Latvian fisherman most of the night and snapped them off (no sexual activity was involved) at the end of the night.

We started swinging when I turned 50. Looks like we've stopped before Kate will get to 50.

It's been a good trip though

Over the rainbow, under the bridge

It's not happened to me so far. Not after 30, 40 or 50. Don't feel any different really - just ache a bit more.

Can't say it's ever bothered me. I have never had an issue with my age, but then I live in Neverland and my best mates Peter Pan...

I love age milestones.. specially the ones for people on here who block anyone over 50 contacting them..... and then turn 50 themselves......

Schadenfreude..? You bet!!!
