Do you like or loathe it?

Well 10 months ago (today), I started to live on my own. I have never do it before. I can honestly say, I hate it. I miss the talking crap to each other, the "fancy a brew" moments. Heck, I even miss things being my fault lol.

I moved last year to a small flat on my own, no kids, and nowhere for them to stay. I like it most of the time but often hate it.

Any gorgeous lonely guys want to move in with me?

I have lived pretty much alone for about 10 years now. I will say i like my own space but now beginning to find it a bit boring.

Of course my new place is so small even i fill it up, lol.

Would love some lovely lady to squeeze in with me, but she would not be able to bring her shoe collection.

13 years on my own with a temporary blip of 18 months with a tosspot...adore living on my own, I'm fairly handy around the house and fortunate enough to have enough money to pay for someone to do the stuff I can't do. Occasionally miss a cuddle on the sofa - FWB will do for that, don't mind him staying odd nights (although I don't sleep well with anyone in my bed)...was a struggle after my hip replacement and when I've had sciatica attacks but I wouldn't change it for a gold clock (or a gold cock either)

Find a man that can! Just paid my gardener £250 to refelt my shed roof, cut back the ivy and vines, mow the lawn and he'll be back Monday to stain the decking, shed and fence.

Worth every penny as I'm sure my neighbours would film me trying to get on the shed roof. Don't fancy being the latest YouTube "star".

Up North

I have only recently started living alone. So far it's okay, because I have a great circle of friends and family. I am not very handy as I have never had to be. Sometimes though I do wish they all didn't have spare keys. Yesterday I came home to find nearly the whole family chilling out in my garden.

But if I had the choice, I wouldn't live alone.

I am in the process of looking for my own place. I have had enough of flat sharing and can't wait to have my own space again. I do need more personal space than a lot of people.

I have lived alone before and absolutely loved it. No getting annoyed at housemates who don't know how to use a vacuum cleaner or clean up after themselves in the kitchen.

There is a massive difference between being alone and being lonely. You can be with a huge group of peple and still feel lonely. I am lucky that I don't get lonely. If I want company I have a good circle of friends I can phone up for a chat or to go out and I can hide in my own space when I want to be by myself - which just happens to be most of the time. I am just comfortable and happy with my own company.

My daughter moved out a couple of months ago and I do miss her very much. The weekends are fine as I am out but weekday evenings can be very quiet. So I log into Fab and bug you lot, or go to the gym.

Apart from that I quite like the freedom to watch what I like, eat what I like, and do what I like.

Bit of a roller coaster for me, at times I love being on my own being able to do what I want when I want, well within reason anyway. At other times I suffer from crushing loneliness especially when I'm stressed or sad and need the support of an emotionally intimate partner.

What a very apt user name you have!

Men are just as likely to control and take over. I was unable to cook and eat fish at home for several years because the man I lived with didn't like fish. He didn't care I did - he didn't so no fish allowed.

I've lived alone for 20 years and I cannot now imagine sharing my home with anyone for longer than 10 days. I start getting anxious after about 3 days as it is.

I don't get lonely living alone. Now that more of my work is at home I love the fact that I have family across the road to give me human contact in the evening. You lot then get the rest of the mad thoughts that run through my mind.

Yes, that about sums it up for me too. But on balance I'd hate to live with anyone again. It's sad, but I think I prefer loneliness to the feeling of losing myself, which is what living with people too often gave me.

I've been living by myself for 2 years and have to say I love it, I can do whatever I want and have no one to answer to, I keep my apartment just as I like it and if I want a bit of company then I have my friends or here, as I say its works for me

Lived without a partner for over 10 yrs now and wouldn't change it for the world. Like my own independence and I'm very capable of doing things around the house. There's no way I'd have any man moving in with me... I'm too set in my ways and enjoy my me time.

Happy with my life

I live with my kids but they are spending the summer hols with their dad and spend alot of time there anyway.

I absolutely love being on my own. I'm more than happy with my own company and for the times when I'm not, there's friends and there's Fab.

"hate the feeling of lonliness

The loneliness is the killer for me as well. Some days the only people I speak to, are you lot on the forums. God help me "

......... and the people you talk to when applying for jobs.

And the woman that looks funny at me when I'm having a row with the self checkout machines at asda.

sometimes I think the time I spend on fab and facebook is an indication I am feeling lonely but it does cheer me and forums certainly do, someone chatting whatever the time of day, but overall I used to living alone, feels normal to me as lived alone from 16, with the usual years of partner and child in between.

I've lived on my own for 8 years and it suits me. I like my own space, I don't get bored or lonely. The down sides are financial ones, it's difficult paying all the bills on one wage.

I do get to "play house" when Snappo comes to stay, and enjoy it a lot, but I know it would be a difficult adjustment if he moved in for good!

Over the rainbow, under the bridge

Love it - cannot imagine living with anyone again. I think either I would kill them, or they would kill me.

Still, I do have a rather large garden!

"thought i'd hate it but i really like it. The job i do means that i interact with a lot of people during the day, so adore going home to my own space.

Having said that, so prefer my flat when Master is in town, he clears up. Whereas when i'm at his i just make a mess! lol x"

It's the stuff on every surface that gets to me, and clear one glass before getting another FFS!!!xx

There is no downside to living alone. I go out in the morning having had the bathroom all to myself and the house it tidy. When I come back everything is just as I left it

I have a man who I pay to do my DIY jobs, I have friends if I want to have a chat and I have a FB....why on earth would I want to share my space with anyone?

Noone will ever burst my bubble

I have been on my own for about 20 yrs now, there are odd moments when I wonder what it would be like to have someone but am very set in my ways now and would find it difficult to share, hence being here suits me

I came to the conclusion that if I did meet someone that I wanted to settle down with, it would make more sense for us to find somewhere to make a home in rather than I move in with him or he with me, that way we can put our stamp on it
