"Do you like or loathe it? Well 10 months ago (today), I started to live on my own. I have never do it before. I can honestly say, I hate it. I miss the talking crap to each other, the "fancy a brew" moments. Heck, I even miss things being my fault lol." I'm 53 next month and never lived alone. I dream of my adult children moving out, funny old game: life.

"Single and lived alone for 7+ years now, I love it, I can slob whenever I want, without anyone annoying me. The only downside is I have no one to do the basic diy jobs for me and I am crap at that! " Yes and then costs a lot of money to get someone in

"Coming up 2yrs...and hared evry minute of it....hate the feeling of lonliness" I've only been lonely once, a bone crushing almost breath stopping loneliness: Christmas day 2002, sat at the dinner table that was groaning with goodies surrounded by my husband and children. I moved out April 2003.

But I doubt I could pay someone to come round and change my bloody spot lights, now they are a bugger to change, I only managed to change 1 out of 8

" Find a man that can! Just paid my gardener £250 to refelt my shed roof, cut back the ivy and vines, mow the lawn and he'll be back Monday to stain the decking, shed and fence. Worth every penny as I'm sure my neighbours would film me trying to get on the shed roof. Don't fancy being the latest YouTube "star".

"I am in the process of looking for my own place. I have had enough of flat sharing and can't wait to have my own space again. I do need more personal space than a lot of people. I have lived alone before and absolutely loved it. No getting annoyed at housemates who don't know how to use a vacuum cleaner or clean up after themselves in the kitchen. There is a massive difference between being alone and being lonely. You can be with a huge group of peple and still feel lonely. I am lucky that I don't get lonely. If I want company I have a good circle of friends I can phone up for a chat or to go out and I can hide in my own space when I want to be by myself - which just happens to be most of the time. I am just comfortable and happy with my own company." Best advice I every received from me mam that.. You can be in a crowded room and still feel lonely if you are happy in your self!!

Dead right , the number of women who try to take over , manipulate and control , I can do absolutely everything for myself the only reason I want a woman is to have sex with , ....... nothing else.

He didn't care I did - he didn't so no fish allowed.

Anyone looking through our window would have seen a happy family scene but it was an illusion. I no longer have a husband but neither have I been lonely since.

"i love the independance, the remote control is mine,,do miss cuddles,a moan to someone, but wont settle for anyone just to say i got someone" Yes, that about sums it up for me too. But on balance I'd hate to live with anyone again. It's sad, but I think I prefer loneliness to the feeling of losing myself, which is what living with people too often gave me.

"I've lived on my own for 8 years and it suits me. I like my own space, I don't get bored or lonely. The down sides are financial ones, it's difficult paying all the bills on one wage. I do get to "play house" when Snappo comes to stay, and enjoy it a lot, but I know it would be a difficult adjustment if he moved in for good!" I came to the conclusion that if I did meet someone that I wanted to settle down with, it would make more sense for us to find somewhere to make a home in rather than I move in with him or he with me, that way we can put our stamp on it
