Motogp Cal Crutchlow to Ducati next year...

Cal has signed a two year deal to ride for Ducati, Does this now make him an Alien or does he still need a few wins under his belt as well as a factory bike, I think he needs a few wins... I not sure he'll get them at Ducati. Will/have Audi be increasing the budget to hopefully increase their success rate?

Last year I for one was thinking Hamilton Mercedes WTF? But as of present with the current performance of the McLaren you have to say it seems to have been a fairly shrewd move.

Ducati have stated that they will be rolling out a completely new bike next season. Audi have invested a lot of money and have brought in new team management, I don't think Cal would have gone had he not thought he would be competitive.

I think we may have a world champion in the next couple of years

Unless the new Ducati is miles ahead of anything else like the one stoner won his world championship on cal is never going to be world champion, he's a good rider but not in the same league as lorenzo and marguez and pedrosa,

I don't know, I'd like to see Lorenzo, Marquez and Pedrosa on non-factory spec machines to see what they can do; they do tend to blame the machine for poor results whereas Cal just knuckles down. I hope this is the start of the end of the Aliens and a return to hard racing and riders who are able to develop a machine (something which Cal is good at). The Aliens just surround themselves with the best tech guys and off they go. I'm not saying that they aren't the best but Rossi's success is due in no small part the Gerry Burgess

Cal to finish 4th or 5th next season and 2nd the next

Just hope the new ducati is better than the one rossi rode last year. Saw the gp at silverstone last year( awesome 4 days) and the bike was crap. Big cal fan though.

Shame, i liked the look/livery of the tech3 bike so having a real challenger on the best looking bike made him someone i could root for. Can't decide if i will feel the same on a red bike. Anyway i won't be able to watch it as i don't have sky/bt broadband.

Think espargaro will take his place and bradley will still be no.2 if he is there at all

Audi/Ducati have a completely new bike (engine and chassis) for next season. It's a good bike already its just not a easy ride, Casey managed to tame it lesser riders like Rossi struggled.

Also don't rule out Casey being back in the next 2 years, his car racing career has fallen on its arse

but he grew a simple lad with no money in the family. He hated almost everyone in the paddock and the publicity he had to do. He's a young multi-millionaire with a young child set up for life. Why would he return?

I think it is a mistake....

yes he was being squeezed out of yamaha and tech 3, but I think he would have been better waiting to see what was going to happen with honda and their satelite teams (in all but name, they are giving full factory support)

going to ducati has ruined more careers then I can remember.....

2 year deal doesn't make sense when suzuki and aprilla are suppose to be coming back in as full factory rides the season after next.... he could have gotten out

I don't think Audi will let Ducati GP team fail, I can see them forcing Ducati to move away from the V4 Vtwin Big Bang set up they persevere with ;Ducati apparently refuse to believe that anything other than a V twin set up means their philosophy and mantra would be shot.

I still believe Stoner will be back, he's still young and the racer in him will be eating away at him. If he comes back it will be a one year deal on a Yam (3 titles 3 constructors) something Rossi never did

As for Aprillia and Suzuki; Aprilla are too small a company to afford to compete, Suzuki will take a few years to even catch up with the non-factory teams

The current ducati motogp bike is a dog. Valentino Rossi tried and changed everything to try an make it work with limited success. Best thing ducati can do is burn it and give Crutchlow a whole new bike.He has the talent to wn races and maybe a championship!. Good to see a British rider doing well though. Although i am a Rossi fan
