I'm in the course of planning and designing my new bedroom.........sound proofing first..............

Obviously, it will have an " adult " theme, but I would be very interested to know what the fab world has , or wants , or would love to have in your bedroom , especially you ladies , all ideas welcome and maybe I could incorporate a few of them into the design ............Dec

I want a proper walk in wardrobe with a big show closet. Hell, my shoe collection needs a room of it's own.

We have those - attached to the beams. They're very useful for ahem, hanging things on.

If that is your cup of tea then why not

A more conventional hook or d-ring would be fine though!

I have an attic bedroom with big beams but I'd end up with a major head wound if I attached anything to them lol

I'm a fan of lighting. 'Mood lighting' sounds so cliche but in my room I don't have any proper lights, there used to be fluorescent tube lights in here! So I got rid of those and now just have a selection of lamps and fairy lights. I can make it cosy I can make it fun I can make it like a disco.

Spend as much money as you can afford on the best mattress available and the finest Egyptian cotton sheets and covers; together with a fine Siberian goose-down duvet.

Nothing is as valuable as the best nights sleep.

I am fortunate to have a walk in wardrobe, I do like the fact that its a separate little room and it helps to keep things tidy.

I like colourful clothes but my bedroom is painted in neutral colours. I don't like colour on any walls. I do have metal dressmaker mannequins with various items of clothing on, one has a nightdress and gown on it, as this set is gorgeous, frilly and feminine and I like looking at it, the other has a satin dress and a feather cape on it.

They are the only fancy items in the room, oh and a large chandelier as I like looking up at that in bed.

We've just decorated our room and the one thing we've added that we didn't have enough of before is mirrors we have a couple of full length ones (standard) and one running along the foot of the bed, plus one in the corner and I'm trying to work out if i can get away with a one on the ceiling without it being totally obvious to guests why its there haha!

The one thing I want to add still is a pole.....for exercise purposes ofcourse

Lighting and music make the difference between a place to sleep and a place to play.

Soundproofing and neutral colour are a good starting point, then the biggest bed you can fit in, with the best mattress and bedding you can afford

Women will always be impressed by walk in wardrobe's but that is seldom an option in standard houses.

Just clocked your username, new suggestion is large squares of polystyrene painted grey, with torch holders in the walls, heavy embroidered drapes on 4 poster bed to make a medieval castle
