"Clever little chaps aren't they ? Replaced all my bird feeders with 'squirrel proof' feeders. Watching them this morning, they managed to shake and swing them enough, to scatter the seeds out of the holes on the sides, then just hopped down to the floor and mopped them up. Watching wildlife is a joy. Anyone else enjoy ? " Yep feed them everyday in my garden. Have a squirrel box, fill it up with monkey nuts, keeps them happy. Seems to keep them away from the bird feeders. Two cats help out as well

"I have a complete loathing of grey squirrels they are evil.I love the native red chaps. The greys have attacked every feeder of various types i have put out for the birds, they have even eaten through a steel core washing line to make the feeder drop.On one occassion they even rolled the feeder away, the feeder was call fort nuts !!!!! rant over !!!!!!" I am trying squirrel proof feeders to discourage them. Had a bad experience some years go when they got into my loft and wreaked havoc.

"Hmmmm I had one that sheltered in my loft and ate all the Christmas goodies I had stashed in there " My loft didn't have anything so tasty, so they chewed timbers and the damn wiring. Cost me a fortune

"Coming from a pest controller you would be better to eradicate them than try to stop them getting on your bird feeders , they have found a reliable food source and will breed even more now , hope this helps , xxxxx" It does help, just put another bag out for them. Breed fellas breed.
