Does that mean car magazines can't have women draped all over them steadily anymore then or perfume ads that are all sexy have to change their ways as well??

Is this another way parents don't have to parent because they don't know how to answer questions about why a lady is on the front of a magazine in hee underwear?

Not aware of mainstream car magazines having ladies draped over the cars now or major car shows.

For true equality either ban the diet adverts or make a male equivalent (that wouldnt be around for long I bet)

I saw a woman on the bus breast feeding on the weekend when some old woman started shouting "Thats disgusting, do that in private! not on the bus!"

In hindsight, it probably wasn't the time or the place for a wank

It's the most natural way to feed a baby and helps develop a strong bond between mother and child. What is there to be offended about it???

thats a bit silly though because i had a very strong bond with my son from when i was carrying him inside me, so breast feeding him wouldnt of made any difference there.

don't think I ever said you did not cuddle your son did I? And no, I do not know you...only from what you have posted on here, and if I remember correctly you posted about if you had known what having a child would have done to your body that you would not have had him...and a mother being offended by seeing other women breastfeed, even if that is not her choice, just seems very odd to me. I have nothing against bottle feeding as many wish not to breastfeed or can not...but to say it is disgusting to see those that do, in my mind is the disgusting thing

I am as shocked as other mothers about the attitude from a mother about breastfeeding.. I accept not everyone finds it easy but as a mother it was the best and most amazing experience ever.

I can't understand those that don't at least try to feed themselves... But I accept it's there choice. I always feel sad when you see an obviously very young baby being bottle fed. But only because to me the experience of breastfeeding was such a special time.

You don't even see anything when a woman is breastfeeding though..

I often have people ask if they can breastfeed whilst in my restaurant. I have no problem with it at all. If other guests have they are entitled to move to another table, or leave, either way, it is their problem, not mine, nor the baby being fed, nor the mother doing the feeding. For the most part mothers are generally very discreet, hiding babies under blankets etc.

Only once have I encountered another diner complaining about a breast feeding mum, she suggested the mum and baby should go into the toilet to feed. I asked if she would like me to set a table up for her and her husband in the toilet.

The only problem I have with breast feeding is that it seems to have highjacked this thread.

As for the "lads mags" I am not at all surprised that the left wing, socialist supporting, politically correct to a fault Co-op would be the first to jump on this feminist bandwagon.

I struggled for 7 days to breastfeed my son. No support from hosp staff, just saying get on with it. Same at home, oh couldn't help feed him or take over, he did his best and did the other stuff. I quit on the 8th day, put him on the bottle he never looked back after that. When I had my daughter, because of my lousy experience, she had the bottle the minute she was born, didn't affect the bond and unlike after my son, I was not a tired exhausted mum unable to cope. I was a happy smiley mum and wife. Im not against breastfeeding in public, totally natural if you aren't shy and if my daughter ever has kids, I will support her however she chooses to feed her baby. It's not just kids though is it? Many adults don't like seeing women objectified sexually.

As for breast feeding - I never did it: Didn't want to. All my kids are fine. BUT I certainly wasn't disgusted or offended by other women doing it and accept it's the most natural way to feed a baby.

There was a previous discussion on glamour mags where we were surprised how many wanted them banned, could sort of expect that reaction elsewhere but this is supposed to be a swingers site where you could expect attitudes to be a little more liberal than average.

Top shelf was good enough when we were kids, can't see what has changed that makes today's youngsters more vulnerable.

Seems to me that the more you hide information the better they are at finding it elsewhere or getting into serious problems by not knowing enough, lets face it lying about your age at the start of adult websites is a lot easier than taking a step ladder to the co-op

I remember being stood in a chippy queue while everyone was waiting for chips to be cooked. Hang on, someone finds breastfeeding a child disgusting and offensive? Honestly, I am totally flabbergasted. Sort your shit out, seriously.

As for lads mags, this is all just mental. Personally I don't like them. But we are all adults and can make our own decisions. As for the feminist brigade, isn't feminism meant to be abou giving women choices? If they want to strip and have their naked or semi-naked bodies on magazines then so be it. It's their choice. If people want to buy these mags that's their choice also. After all, we all have pics of our own naked bits on here! Fet a grip.

I agree that children shouldn't have sexual images shoved in their face. But this can be dealt with by using good parenting. Sexual images are in our face every day, not just in lads mags. They are in newspapers, TV, billboards on buses and the tube. It's summer and we see women walking around in next to nothing. May as well ban kids from going to the beach in case they see men in speedos and women in bikinis.

Kids will ask questions regardless - it's part of growing up. As they grow up they become more aware of their bodies and when they get to a certain age they start wondering about the changes in their bodies and then eventually they start wondering about sex.

I was lucky in the sense that my parents were quite open an honest about these things when I was growing up. In fact, it was my dad who bought me my first packet of condoms when I was 15 when he found out I had a boyfriend! (I nearly died of embarrassment by the way as sex was the furthest thing from my mind at the time).

But seriously, all the talk of unruly children and bad parenting that we see in the media these days is getting on my nerves. When did it start to happen that parenting was beginning to be taken away from the actual parents?! The state is not responsible for raising our children, WE ARE. It is up to us to teach our children right from wrong and how to treat and view people (men and women). It is not up to the state.

PC gone mad.

Rant over.

well i could say its weird that some people on a swinging site are offended and disgusted by pussy pics.

its about not being selfish and considering other peoples feelings as i am not the only person who is put off by women breast feeding in public place especialy in a cafe.

years ago people breast fed their babies in the privacy of their own homes before they went out, or used a breast pump and then bottle fed the baby when they went out.

its not rocket science is it.

It is true some people don't like to see certain things, that is why we have eyes and heads that move, therefore we can look at things or not look at them, it's a choice.

Mothers breast feeding kind of requires a seat of some sort, kids get agitated if you try it whilst jogging. so buses, benches, and cafe's probably get more than their fair share. Most I have seen have been very good at discreetly exposing breast for a millisecond before baby and blanket covers all anyway, so the objectors have only a mental image to object to. However conceiving the child in buses, benches and cafe's tend to be more anti-social.

Rushden

Ena Sharples by name, Ena Sharples by nature! (for those too young, Google is your friend!)

My wife fed both of ours back in the 80's and whenever and wherever they needed it! Yes, women complain more than men, men like to see boobs and women on the whole don't!

As for lads mags.. Another parental responsibility being taken away. They are on the top shelf and out of reach.. Back in the day, us lads were always trying to get a look at "Parade" because it had bare breasted women in it! It was top shelf and we had to rely on an old geezer sticking too many pages together before he threw it out..

The Co-op is always trying to be a bit more PC than the rest, this is just wind and piss cos they can't compete with the four majors.. Trying to get the prissy women in!

This thread is a perfect indication of how fucked up humans are.

In a discussion about hiding pictures of semi clad women from the eyes of children are numerous posts about how allowing those same children direct access to those same body parts is the most natural thing- crazy world

I'd rather let my kids read nuts then some of the storys in women's magazines with stories like

"I gave birth to my fathers child"

"I married my pet dog"

"Me and my twin are in love"

and then you have other magazines and adverts on tv with

"Get her body in 6 weeks"

"Look at so and so's new body and learn how to get it"

Double standards I think by a few do gooders

"theres a time and a place, just makes me feel sick.

Whenever and wherever

i remember sitting in littlewoods cafe feeding my eldest and some man made a comment so i asked him where i wad supposed to go as there was no mother and baby room so she said the toilet so feeding in a cafe is wrong but dat on the loo is ok, go figure

some people are just wierd

well i could say its weird that some people on a swinging site are offended and disgusted by pussy pics.

its about not being selfish and considering other peoples feelings as i am not the only person who is put off by women breast feeding in public place especialy in a cafe.

years ago people breast fed their babies in the privacy of their own homes before they went out, or used a breast pump and then bottle fed the baby when they went out.

its not rocket science is it."

so if a baby is hungry in a public place the mother should'nt feed it? and you talk about others being selfish

no its not rocket science but nor is if you go out for the day your baby cant wait till you get home to feed it again or are you suggesting women who breast feed shouldnt go far enough away from home that they nip back to feed their child if needed?

I mean seriously, if a child needs feeding it needs feeding, if anyone is offended by the sigh of a mother feeding her child I would suggest they have issues that need sorting not the mother

Costa Blanca Spain...

"Hang on, someone finds breastfeeding a child disgusting and offensive?

Rant over."

Great rant and spot on.
