" So if you were in charge making corporate decisions effecting the financial security of a global brand, would you not move production of one vehicle from one country to another to aid your companies long term prospects of keeping more people employed and increase the chances of your brand riding out the global financial crises…. Or would you risk leaving it where it was? | |||

The UK does the same, offering large financial incentives per job created/ invented when the maths suggest it'd be cheaper to keep the new employees on the buroo. | |||

"I'm not an expert on the subject but maybe VW & Mercedes feel like they have to still be seen as a German company. Ford aren't British so they wouldn't feel the same loyalty." Not an expert on the vans but more vw golfs are built in the Skoda factory in the Czech Republic than in germany. | |||
