"Having said all that the stress and worrying of what might happen is a big problem." My wifes pregnant at the moment and this isn't helping to say the least, she had one miscarriage last year, and if the stress forces another, well, lets just say I know where the driver who hit our car lives....

" I can understand your frustration Mally and to be honest as the injured party I can't honestly see you guys having to apy anything. I know the guy that caused the accident is to blame for just that the accident and you wouldn't be in this situation but for him. But going round and doing him in is not the answer believe me !!!! You will just end up in even more stress and that you don't really need. Hope it works out for the best and keep us updated Andy

"Bare with me on this one, right, last year my wifes car was hit my a complete nutter going round the corner too fast, doing this she took the corner wide in hit the car that was parked outside the house, right, their insurance was picking up the cost for obvious reasons, my wife has her car taken to Honda to be told that they have a special dept that deals with accidents and will pass said details to them, the call comes from accident exchange who offer my wife a courtesy car while hers is getting fix and the cost will be paid by the other parties insurance, clear? Now this is where they screw you over, what they fail to tell you is if the other insurance refuse to pay, then it goes to court, and because the other insurance company dragged their heels getting her car fixed, we ended up with the courtesy car for 75 days, not they agreed to pay to get her car repaired which came to over 1000 pounds but because the cost of the courtesy car was over 3 times that, theyre refusing to pay up, Accident Exchange are now taking the Insurance company to court over this and if the insurance company wins, we are lumbered with the cost of the hire car, Now not at any point do Accident Exchange tell you this before you agree to have a courtesy car, they just say, we'll claim it all through the other persons insurance, but fail to mention that if they dont pay, you have to, either way Accident Exchange will get their money, just beware of this company people " Have had a car under similar circumstances and when they deliver the hire car they make you sign to say the car is undamaged. If you also look you have to tick a box to say you are aware that if the insurance doesn't pay you are liable. They then leave you a copy of this and you have 7 days to tell them if your not happy with things. Check what they left you when you signed for the cars delivery or when you collected that if that's what you did.

"well thats the answer get your mum to do him in lol" Its was a woman going by opening post. It's the insurance company he should have the problem with, let's be honest here, if she was doing 5mph and slid on ice and hit the car, they'd still be contesting the cost of the courtesy car.

" You wouldn't hit a woman would you It's obvious that its the insurance company thats the problem here." The women driving the car wasnt actually insured for it so her mum said she was driving it, oh yes, its goes a lot deeper with the family in question, her father actually knocked at my door once and asked me to fight him now he is in his 50, grossly overweight and in very bad health, I said, I'll race you to the field (which was about 200 yards from our house) and if you get there before me I'll have a fight, needless to say, he called me a smart arse and just left, i think i done him a favor really

"Find one local to you" No good just finding one, you need one that specialises in motoring accidents / claims, after all, no one would go to a butcher for a hair cut.

"Find one local to you No good just finding one, you need one that specialises in motoring accidents / claims, after all, no one would go to a butcher for a hair cut." It's common sence you find a solicitor who deals with motor claims. But large firms who are miles away,[ recommended by insurance company] who don't know you and are and never going to meet you. Just call you now and again, as they have thoudands on their list are bloody useless. Ask anyone who has had experience of them. Speaking from experience, were advised by one of these idiot firms to accept liabilty, like hell!! Used a local motor accident solicitor and were totally cleared of any liabilty. We are only trying to help

"It's common sence you find a solicitor who deals with motor claims. " Is it?? Your far to generous awarding “some” people with common sense, oh, and seeing as solicitors has been mentioned in this part of the thread, a little research will confirm why so many solicitors have complaints registered against them for incorrect advice {as this stage, not all upheld}
