A world of my own

We still haven't been on ours works Xmas do (the one paid for by the company) we hope to be going out this Saturday and can't decide on a Chinese, Indian or Italian restaurant. Personally Chinese is my fave, what do you lot prefer?

It depends on the venue.

I don't like places where they herd you in and out like cattles.

Therefore, I would check if there is a time limit to the table first before I decide.

IMHO, Italians are likely to be the most relaxed about the number of covers they can squeeze in, whereas the Chinese are the worst.

There is an excellent all you can eat chain called Cosmo, and there is one in Swindon.

Lovely food, however, they have 2h max time policy on busy nights.

I don't think the Chinese restuarant we are thinking of has a time limit, and even if it did they wouldn't get us lot out unless we were good and ready, lol.

La Tasca ?? Behave yourself !

Just an up market McDonalds with more microwaves.

They couldn't do proper Tapas if their lives depended on it !

Chinese but only if the menu has a section written in Chinese and the place is full of Chinese people. If you can get a genuine Hu Nan chinese restaurant go for it, totally different to the sugary concoctions from your average westernised Chinese restaurant.

I personally find all the things on a Chinese menu taste exactly the same (bit like all supermarket sandwiches do!), anyone else think this?

Most people cook bolognese, lasagne, pizza at home. So for me Indian is way out in front. I'd put Thai ahead of that anyday though

a Primark shoebox in Leicester

My favourite places to eat at the moment are a little Mexican place and a fantastic Caribbean restaurant.

If it’s reasonable to good quality, I’d have to toss a coin to choose between Indian and Chinese. Most of the Italian places around here serve crap… what could well be packet pasta with a bit if tomato based sauce thrown over it…. none of the lovely meat dishes. If you can find a good traditional Italian restaurant though, that’s a different matter… and you usually get the added bonus of scrummy waiters.
