.. prior to having your child/children what they would be called or did you wait until they were born?

I had several names i was toying with but i settled on one name and it just felt right, i spke to her every night when she was inside and when i finally delivered it just felt natural. Must be odd (im guessing) to have a baby and not be entirely sure what to call him or her.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I decided on the name quite early in one pregnancy but his father didn't like it. As I delivered in quite traumatic circumstances and they whisked me down to surgery and my son to nicu they asked me for his name. I'm glad I had one ready.

I had a back-up name in case I couldn't think of anything else.

2 minutes after she was born I said to my husband, sod it, lets just call her Jessica.

Indian's wait till after birth as they use time and the DOB to select the first letter.

Turned out to be K which was handy as my ex wanted Keira.

Our first was six weeks premature so we hadn't a name for them. Lots of ideas but we hadn't settled on anything.

We were better prepared for our second, just as well as she was four weeks early.

Deviant City

Think me & his dad had pretty much decided on the name by 30 weeks, knew what I was having, but still had a girls name just in case the scan was wrong.i just didn't want a popular name and the most popular names at the time was Connor and Chloe.

Southwick

If it had been a girl it would have been Hayleigh or Hayley as child was born in 1986 when Halley's Comet flew by.

Turned out to be a boy...so was named James after my dad.

I had a girls name picked out early on then we found out he was a boy, I suggested Harry but my ex's friend just had a boy and called it Harry. So he suggested what about Harrison?

I said yeah thinkin I'd just shorten it to Harry anyway, but I never have. Only one person did and I told them that's not his name. Lol x

Had the name for my 2nd as knew it was a girl. Midwife asked if we had a name & told her. However, when I was pushing she kept saying 'Come on *****, hurry up out' and it made me think, hang on, she might not look like ***** when she's born!! She did though & got the original name!

my three boys were 8, 4 and 13 weeks early - so we also had ideas rather than anything settled at the time of birth. Apart from being premature, luckily all three were healthy so we felt no urgency in agreeing a name ... we took 2 or 3 days with each of them.
