Listening to smooth radio and our tune came on. Mine is..

For years my dad suffered with his chest, the last 18 months were particularly hard for him.. He was in and out of hospital in nottingham. At all hours my brother would ring to say he was dying and to get there asap. We would jump in the car and drive the

21/2 hours to his bedside, to be greated by dad saying aye up mini what you doing here. On the 11july 8 years ago had a call to say hed deteriorated and to get up there. I had just finished a 14 hour shift and was knackered, i took the time to call the hospital instead of jumping straight in the car. They said get here asap.By the time we had sorted out child care it was going on for 2330. We drove like mad and was just ten minutes from the hospital and had a call to say he had gone.

My dad loved kareoke and every sunday would go to the local to watch my brother sing UB40 kingston town. My brother sang it at his funeral and vowed he would never sing it again.

I cant listen to that song without a lump in my throat.

Thats my story.

Is there an our tune that gets you.

That made me fill up

My mum was an avid Neil diamond fan, a couple of days after she died the radio turned on (some pre set alarm thing had been activated) the sing was sweet Caroline, myself my sister and my dad just looked at each other, my dad then reached up and started singing along, we joined in. We had the song at the funeral, then again at my dads a few years later. I fill up every time I hear it.

Bridge over troubled waters- played at a very close friends funeral

You raise me up- played at my nans funeral

On a humorous/ironic note, my best mates dad died of lung cancer. He was cremated as the music blared out The Air that I breathe... It was a fav tune of his, but probably not the best choice on the circumstances
