I love mine too....still buy the occasional book though, and I often go into Waterstones to sniff the books.

That's Ofcourse unless you are annemarie who takes excess baggage then puts her kindle in her cabin bag and then proceeds to jump up and down on it so it fits in the bag measuring stand !

Result a fooked kindle !!

I have the Kindle Fire. Fantastic bit of kit. My only gripe is the Kindle Daily Deal is always chicklit shit!

I love my Kindle's, I have about 5000 books on them. I was given a keyboard Kindle a couple of years ago and a Kindle Fire for xmas, the only gripes I have with the Fire is it is virtually impossible to read outside in full sunlight, unlike my keyboard and the battery life is pretty poor, the keyboard I only usually charge once or twice a month, the Fire every day. Small gripes, I am never without my Kindle...still feel like I'm cheating on paper books though

Oh I did nothing to my books, I can't stand having corners bent and the spines broken lol...I made the mistake of lending some out, never again. My kindle now goes everywhere

I use my Kindle Fire in full sunlight on the beach with no problem. Just turn up the brightness to full and convert the pages to white.... sorted!

I used to think that.

I've not picked up a book in nearly a year!

Also hardly paid for a book either. I've read over 70 and have another 20 or so to go.

I used to be anti-kindle until I had one as a christmas present a couple of years ago

Now it's an essential travel item

Plus no one can see what book you're reading so it could be chick lit, porn, or a treatise on the state of the human condition

A for the Kobo. Not tied to Amazon, useful for more formats.

Did you realise you don't own the books you buy from Amazon. If there was a copyright mistake they can just take the book back? If there was a libel complaint they can suck the book back, change or delete wording and give it back to you. No juicy bits left!

Love my ebook for portability. Have two reads on the go. A real book and the ebook.

Love my Kindle and I get loads of free ebooks as well. I still buy the odd book from Amazon and use Calibre ebook library with a plug-in that unlocks the book so that I can use it anywhere. So no chance Amazon can take back my books.

I bought a paperwhite kindle about 6 months ago and I must say I was very tentative about it. That said, I do enjoy reading/using it.

I miss that tactile nature of a book, the smell, the feel etc but it's a compromise that I'm happy I made....

I got my kindle linked to an app on my mobile so I can read the same book if I'm out. they sync so I read from the same point on either.

got some interesting free books from lovehoney after they tweeted about them! all very discreet on the kindle or phone app for lunchtime fix

I'd be lost without mine. If you download plug ins for calibre to strip drm from files, look to see if your library have an e lending service then you can download the books to keep

We are off on our holidays Saturday and we have 23 books to take, that is for four people, so I think a couple of us will be getting kindles soon.
