Have you got a product at home that just keeps going and going years beyond the norm ?

I have a casio digital alarm clock that I bought in 1982 that gave up the ghost in the late 90's after being dropped.

I put it in the loft and a couple of years later fished it out again and after a bit of random tinkering it worked again like a good un and still does to this day.

Mind you that's small beer as a neighbour still has a working Hotpoint fridge that she received as a wedding present in er " 1963 " some fifty years ago

The original PP3 battery that came in Casio calculator which was bought pre 1986 …. (unless I’ve been visited by the battery fairy who’s changed it without me knowing)

This is not a good year funky. All things from 1984 are government produced spying products. Burn them.

The knife is for scraping out any tea leaves stuck to the interior of his mug

It should do unless it's a really old set then it may not be compatible re the circuitry as in if it has valves

The washing machine didn't get a lot of use for much of the early years. A big wash or two every few months was about it.

The fridge/ freezer just sits in corner humming away.

Touch wood both will see me out.

BTW, the Hoover Turbopower which has only recently just about given up the ghost is from the same era.

Have a feeling Onny that you laugh in the face of extended warranties ?

I don't think extended warranties existed back then.

I don't do anything to the fridge save clean it every so often but I tighten up the hoses and clean the filter on the washing machine at least once a year.

Whether this has helped or not I dunno.

Hello All,

we have a Creda oven and I have no idea how old it is, but we haven't found a new oven that has the features this has, namely high level grill and top oven and a warming drawer to keep the food and plates hot. Also has a ceramic hob so easily cleaned. Modern electric ovens are rubbish compared to this one. I wrote to Creda but got a silly reply.
