A role taken on by the man in a 'just friends' male/female relationship. An emotional tampon is a man who will always be there to provide a woman with the proverbial 'shoulder to cry on' or some other outlet for her to otherwise vent her emotional frustration, problems, and mental unbalance. Ultimately, he becomes the only person for whom this behavior is reserved as nobody else will tolerate it but him.

I actually do have one, he is a fantastic guy who I will sometimes vent my frustrations at. He always manages to make me smile even if his normal response is stop whining fatty

There's relationships like that everywhere. It can be draining for both. Sometimes we don't even realise were one of those parties and I'm sure some do it on fab.

Can't say I've ever had anyone in my life like that. If I can't solve my own problems etc, then it's time to give up...

Saying that, I've been a shoulder for many others which is very draining. Lost a few friends because I've told them to sort their issues out and to stop dumping them on anyone that will listen..
