I kind had two families when I was growing up One With the roast spuds roast beef ect ect My mum. And then there was the jerk chicken rice and peas. My extended family lol

Jamaican food.. My first boyfriend was from Jamaica and he taught me how to cook and I love cooking it... Then I married a Mexican who showed me proper Mexican food..

When we were kids Dad used to make jam sandwiches, dip them in batter, deep fry them & coat them in sugar, they tasted just like got jam doughnuts.

Not great for the waistline or cholesterol level but bloody gorgeous!

I don't have one I was a proper fussy eater maybe that's why!

Of course there's the Sunday roast but my dad would often mock me for my eating habits (the yorkshire pud was served before the rest of the roast and I'd have it with a little gravy but then had a clean plate for my meal as I didn't want gravy touching anything else, also I dissected meat to remove anything I deemed as odd..) and it was all very routine and dull. I much prefer my own home cooked roast dinners and the flexible nature of them. No one in the mood for a roast on Sunday? Fine we will have it on Monday. That would have been sacrilege to my dad.

That's a lovely image. I didn't like the eggs and would have to wash them out as I was peeling the prawns.
