Alcohol and swinging.

I'd love to know people's thoughts and opinions about this. Recently we've met a few people at different parties who need to drink a lot before they have the confidence to play.

We enjoy a drink but we don't tend to drink much if we're playing. We like swinging because we love to play and to make friends.

I'd love to hear what others think about this topic.

Alcohol (lots of) and meeting don't really mix, have been to meets where drink has been involved and found it blurs the persons boundaries and limits to maybe beyond where they would, sober, go to

Yes as others have said I'm not interested in playing with anyone who has obviously d*unk..... Find it disconcerting.

A drink I have no issue with...d*unk is a no no though, although I personally don't drink when I'm playing. Have been in a club once with a fb and a very d*unk girl was all over him...he had to practically peel her off him because he wasn't interested. Part of his concern was that there could be an issue of consent had anything happened

always driving, so never drink. Only had a drink twice, because I got a lift. Couldn't be doing with being steaming d*unk, have witnessed it on many occasions, usually the women and I just feel sorry for them, that they had to get into such a state in the first place.

Well, I can put over three experiences to do with drink and meets. In my own case, I have never d*unk anything stronger than a diet Coke before, during or after a meet. Never needed to, as nerves never seem to affect me.

Ruby, on the other hand, when we started really need a drink (well, several) just to be able to relax the nerves. Now, after over a year, she even goes on meets on her own without touching a single drop - and is enjoying her meets much more as a result.

And finally, we sadly had to say goodbye to a couple at the end of last year due to drink - his drinking specifically. She was fine - no, great! But he needed around five (count them!) cans of lager just to be able to get in the mood, by which time Ruby spent a good half hour just trying - and failing - to get him hard while me and his missus were 'getting on famously' in the other room... Ruby ended up chatting to him for an hour and, after they left, put her foot down on further meets with them.... much to my chagrin...

This is the one thing that my OH finds most unnattractive and off-putting, d*unk women at swinging parties and clubs.

Neither of us drink so I accept that maybe it's more obvious to us when people do, but if people have to drink to play, then they shouldn't be playing.

We both want to ensure that people we play with are in full comsent and not under any influence

Completely agree.

And the only thing I drink when I'm playing is tea or coffee as I can't perform when I've had alcohol.

That's one of the reasons I worry about men and alcohol on a meet. I want them in peak performance mode.

I always meet in a bar first off, you can have one and drive. It's easier in public if you don't click to walk away. And a jar eases the nerves a little of a first time meet I find

Disagree you can have one and drive (legally yes, but your driving's still impaired) but this isn't a thread about drink driving so I'll get off that high horse.

But the nerves of a first meet is one of the things I love about swinging.

I totally agree, I've only ever had 1 drink when I was playing. That was a tall glass with a shot of vodka filled to the brim with Cranberry Juice. It was my 1st visit to a swing club & was bricking myself. My FB was a complete gent & I had a Fab tim (excuse the pun). I never drink when meeting even if a repeat meet. I like to remember the experience not be told what I got up to. Beside that I spent 16 years as a bar manager & d*unk guys/woman are not attractive. xx

I don't drink alcohol because I am not bothered about drinking, I don't feel the need to so if I met someone and perhaps stayed over night, sharing a bottle of wine, doesn't interest me at all. I prefer to know what has happened and remember, I prefer to have a good time, because I don't drink, I cannot handle it. I often drive too and even if I went to a party with my friend, he doesn't drink so I don't either.

I have been to several parties where people were drinking; I don't have a problem with it but the host at one was so d*unk, he couldn't get hard. At another I went to in the few hours I was there, only two people had gone upstairs to play, the rest were all sat downstairs finishing off a second bottle of vodka/JD etc.

I don't drink alcohol at all, never have done. I accept some people need a bit of dutch courage before they play, and fair enough.

I won't judge so long as they don't do it to excess.

I have been d*unk in Cupids twice - once was my party and I was well looked after, had some great sex and woke up with a man in my bed which was a shock!

The second time was a disaster, I was rude, obnoxious and downright horrible. I had been in hospital the weekend before and I wasn't eating much, I'd had some bad news the day before and drinking turned me vile. I have apologised to those I was rude to since.

I've also witness people who have been d*unk in clubs who have manipulated situations and been less than honest about what has happened after the event.

This has led me to the conclusion not to play with people highly under the influence of alcohol and not to drink anything more than 2-3 units in a night.

I don't drink alcohol at all if i am playing.... the only thing I will drink in a club is red bull, water or i will take non alcoholic beer

i am all for people drinking a couple, but not if dutch courage is the reason for doing it....

for me d*unk isn't sexy, and why would you want to put yourself in a valnurable position,

if you really need alcohol to be doing this... then i don't think you should be doing this at all.....

Same here it's what we do when we have vanilla friends round so see no difference on a meet. We like to socialise. Each meet has to be taken on its own merit. would we play if when we arrived they are blind d*unk no
