Like when you ask someone for a light for a cigerette they say " sorry i dont smoke and tap there pockets ". Do they think im going to search them

Saying sorry when someone bumps into YOU. I suppose it's a good thing really, but it does annoy you a second after you've said it and you realise the bump was their fault.
