.

Yes water gets into cracks and then when it freezes expands and causes the tarmac to crak making potholes.

Lesson over

The chancers at the foot of the canongate are threatening another council tax freeze. No pot holes getting fixed, huge class sizes, no universal free school meals and so on.

If the roads had been repaired correctly in the 1st place, there wouldn't be half as many potholes as we are seeing at the minute.

For years and years investment in mending the roads has been at a minimum, so the damaged roads were filled with tarmac and paatted down with a bloody shovel, which is fine until the water underneath freezes, expands then pops out the patch leaving a dirty great hole.

Maybe it's time some of the money that is extorted out of us by way of the 'Road Fund Licence' and the high level of tax paid on fuel, was invested into the roads

Canada, North America and other countrys get 10x more snow than us its nothing to do with the weather here if they would build roads of good quailty in the first place we wouldnt be in this mess we are in now.
