Wellingborough

Well people keep telling me, driving in the UK is getting worse ever day. That most cars have some sort of bump or scrap on them.

But I am sure we are not in anyways the worst country to drive in. Though I would also like your opinion on the best.

By the way, you can only choice countries you have driven in yourself. You can not say India if you have never been or driven in India.. hehe

I found Italy was full of mad drivers. They do not stop at junctions and they seem to park by bumping into the car behind the. On the motorways they just drive right up to the back of you before overtaking.

Here for the best. And yep India is shocking, the side roads, A & B roads are dreadful, but the dual carriage ways and motorways are wacky races, definitely an experience

Best Place = Denmark,

Reason:- because the roads are so quiet you can drive for miles without passing another car going in either direction

Worst Place = Denamark,

Reason:- because the roads are so quiet you can drive for miles without passing another car going in either direction

haha some of you here have lead very sheltered motoring lives, if you have never been to Roma and driven there you have no clue what bad dangerous driving is like.

Its like driving as if the police are chasing you and theres sooo many cars that are smashed up driving around on the roads you know exactly how bad it is there.

The Italians know they can drive, and drive accordingly....

The French know they cant drive, and drive accordingly....

Everywhere in Europe, except here, uses the acoustics parking system..... It's what bumpers were made for....

The English know they cant drive...... But still try to drive like the Italians....

the 1st italian driver i ever saw was in a lancia delta intergrale on roma plates driving up the m6,he was using all 3 lanes and the hard shoulder cutting in and out again like he was in a police chase and i thought that may of been a 1 off but no thats how they drive.

You do adjust your driving style after driving in Rome thats for sure

I was taught to "drive" by an Italian, in a fiat 500 rally car, around Florence....

Beeston

In Italy there is a long straight road running south from Rome. It's called the Appian Way.

I can't immediately think of any sensible reason why someone would want to overtake just as they go in to the one blind bend.

There was a 4 wheel drive vehicle coming the other way. So there was a considerable impact.

It seems that the grandmother was sitting in the middle of the back seat holding the baby in her arms. Which was thrown through the windscreen by the impact.

In 4 days driving in Italy I saw result of 3 major collisions. (Though I was not involved in any of them, if you're thinking of the Les Dawson joke).

Worst personal moment was rush hour in Anzio, when the teens come out on their scooters....

South Korea - they drive with all the flair and abandon of Italians, but seem to manage it without crashing...

An insane, lovely country with wonderful, warm friendly people who's culture you will never even begin to understand..... The only place I've ever seen a tea stall set up right in the fast lane of a motorway....

Won't name it but it has mostly dirt roads, no street lights, no MOT system, no drink driving enforcement.

Great fun if you're in the mood and not in a rush.

The scariest thing ever if you have to drive in the dark or the rain or a hurry.

The biggest dick heads by far drive on British roads - we all think we own it!

I didn't drive as I was too young at the time, but the worst I've seen was in Gozo. They ALL had a death wish. Overtaking a lorry, up hill on a blind bend. Oh and the overtaking vehicle was a lorry

Germany is the best by far. Proper traffic laws that cover every eventuality. Have an accident and it's either your fault or the other guys, none of this knock for knock shit*

Worst so far has to be the UK.

*Have an accident over here and if you happen to be insured by the same underwriters (and there aren't that many) I will bet a pound to a pinch of rocking horse shit that the rip off merchants will try to settle it knock for knock. That way they can screw both of you over at renewal time.

Now a language lesson.

Spanish for driving = ATTACK

Spanish for parking = ABANDON.

Enough said.

I would add that although I've never driven in Rome, the taxi ride I had there should be copied by Alton towers as their next white knuckle ride
