There are countless new build mini communities that were never sold, or went bust before completion yes.

And they do have security issues with Romanian immigrants in particular trying to squat in these developments.

Same happened in Eire and Portugal during the property crash.

You do need to factor in the usual Top Gear over-exaggeration though, they do manage to ham things up a bit on most things.

and the six million unemployed in a country with a smaller population than UK is correct as is the 2 million households with no income.

I think it has a greater effect coming form someone like JC in a programme like this, kind of sinks in more

It should not go unmentioned that Spain also has a massive 'black economy' as regards tourism and employment/unemployment.

Many of those quoted as 'unemployed' will in fact be working seasonal jobs in the tourism sector and not signing off, unemployment figures have always historically been bolstered by the fact that people are unwilling to give up their 'employment unknown' status when they are in fact working in tourism jobs during the spring and summer months.

It is a massive problem in Spain that they (the government) find hard to get a grip of.

They have demolished many hundreds of brand new places this year in Spain.

Simple over supply that never reckoned on the EU wide recession.

"And Real Madrid pay Ronaldo 200k per week "

That is because they are a business...and he is their prize asset.
