I am curious about those that live close to the border - and possibly work in the north living in the south or vice versa...

Are they filthy at work and boring at play or vice versa?

There's a good few moved up here to the "Energy Coast" - folk tend to move where the jobs are and there's quite a lot locally plus the supply chain and local economy benefits so there's more jobs in service industry. Two of the builders who remodelled my bathroom were off-comers from darn Sarf.

To answer the OP, you'll get flamed for sweeping generalisations

, same as most anything, I've met miserable cunts from both side of the north/south divide and the same for many wonderful folk too

Here's the itrefutable proof .... last night I was out on canal street in Manchester, d*unken fun, cocktails, dancing t-girls, sexy sweating bodies = filthy. Tonight I've just finished a quiet pint of peroni and a roasted beetroot salad at a country pub seemingly with a checked shirt policy for men, in Aylesbury = boring

I've lived in Lancashire all my life and cannot see myself moving.

Each and every part of this land has it's own type of beauty. All I can say is that wherever we live we are lucky.
